OK, so following on from another name, if you could change your name to anything, what would it be?

My name is Megan. Not too offensive. But I have always wanted to be called Eloise. Bit late now.

What about you?

idgie

dannas · 13/05/2010 22:03

Ruby. I'd love to be a Ruby.

Ondine · 13/05/2010 22:05

I would be Ondine - hence that's the name I chose as my username as well as I like the meaning.

My real life name is not half as good, in fact it's a bonafide chav name in the UK even though I'm not from here originally... oh well to late to swop now.

SoMuchToBits · 13/05/2010 22:05

Isabel - or maybe Juliet.

dizzydixies · 13/05/2010 22:49

Princess Conswella Banana Hammock

florence2511 · 13/05/2010 23:07

Honeydragon has been watching a lot of fried Green Tomatoes me thinks

I would love to be Persephone.

reddaisy · 13/05/2010 23:10

My DD's name. But failing that, the OP's name - Megan. In fact when I was in nursery I would only answer to the name Megan apparently at home and at nursery because of the Thorn Birds programme which I don't even remember now.

But I still like the name and I don't think my boring and typically 80s name suits me.

reddaisy · 13/05/2010 23:12

In fact, when people say my name I am not always sure they are talking to me if that makes sense as it really doesn't feel like my name.

But, do you get that with other people when you see them as a "Helen" or a "Jane" for some reason when their name is completely different? I do sometimes!

honeydragon · 14/05/2010 09:34

florence - read the book watched the movie and thought thats the name for me - dh quite rightly would never let me call dd that

telsa · 14/05/2010 13:20

Esmeralda

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/05/2010 18:30

Serena - maybe I would then magically become so

Chislers · 14/05/2010 18:34

I like Vivien. My name is so blah. People often call me one of the other names popular for my generation that begin with the same letter.

oddgirl · 14/05/2010 18:39

I would become a Kate-chose it for my DD because it seems such a simple elegant name-always feel if I had been a Kate I would have sailed through life being gorgeous and self-assured....

mintyfresh · 14/05/2010 20:02

When I was younger my name was rare and unusual. Now it is common as muck and I hear it everywhere

I'd love to change it (this thread has got me thinking!) but have no idea what to - might have to get the baby names book out again

Cicatrice · 14/05/2010 20:06

I like Ilse or Ursula. Or Alexandra.

I don't mind my name. I was supposed to be called John.

MamaLazarou · 14/05/2010 20:09

I would keep my name. It is an excellent name .

If I was forced to change it, I would choose Gloria.

yama · 14/05/2010 20:09

Louise

Needanewname · 14/05/2010 20:10

Phoebe - old family name fell in love with it when I was 10, DH wouldn't let me use it for DD1, said I could for DD2 but she didn;t look like one - wished I had though!

5inthebed · 14/05/2010 20:17

My current name is too pretty for me, I don't think I suit it.

I'd love to change it to Kate or maybe Naomi. And if I ever divorced DH, I'd change my surname to Brodie.
