Aslan?

So Aslan, is this really a name? I know it's on a babyname website, but it I can't decide if it's really good or a little bit strange.

Also I keep think of Narnia! The name means Lion too unsurprisingly, could be good for a Leo?

Opinions needed please...

liath · 09/05/2010 22:23

Aslan????

Had you thought about Gandalf instead?

differentID · 09/05/2010 22:24

please tell me it's the hormones speaking? Or that you are from a Turkic speaking background?

All anyone will think of is The Chronicles of Narnia, unfortunately. What about Leon/ Leonard/ Leo/ Leopold if you want a name that means Lion?

MrsRhettButler · 09/05/2010 22:29

has no one suggested simba yet?

MrsRhettButler · 09/05/2010 22:30

in fact i think simba is nicer sounding than aslan

seeker · 09/05/2010 22:42

I snorted at the mere sighting of this suggestion.

Seriously, don't do it.

mathanxiety · 10/05/2010 17:45

Christian is a good lion name.

KiddingAnxiously · 10/05/2010 17:51

PMSL

This thread has really cheered me up on a decidedly shite day.

I think you should go for it.

Aslan. PMSL.

Surprise · 10/05/2010 20:07

Is your name Alan by any chance, MNHubbie?

MNHubbie · 10/05/2010 20:55

It could be my father's, uncle's or one of my DS's name?

muminthemiddle · 10/05/2010 20:56

Narnia.

Firawla · 11/05/2010 15:11

i think its quite nice...
i know people called arsalan which is a form of the same but aslan sounds nicer i think
it is a bit unusual but by no means awful..

FranSanDisco · 11/05/2010 15:17

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 15:17

Aslan

Rarrrrr

Don't be bloody silly. You may as well call your baby Bernard for all the piss taking you will recieve.

AdasMum · 11/05/2010 16:14

I am all for unusual names but don't like Aslan. Must be the book/Narnia connection.
