Any thoughts? Not sure why I am stuck on the two part names, must be some deep south heritage creeping in...

I was just going to post that unless you live in the Deep South these are a bit, erm, twee? Sorry...

I like names like Annabel/Isabel if you're going old fashioned. Eleanor is another very old name, of course.

i have a ten yr old ellie mae. she loves her name....we call her ells now she is bit older as she is starting to grow out of the two part name!! its not a popular as people will try to convince u and i much prefer it to all the granny chic names names which are just as dating IMO....good luck!! x

I don't think that those types of names are old fashioned (except as BDSM says if you are from the Deep South), just rather cutsie. I do have a certain fondness for Sarah-Jane, but that's more to do with the character I think. Any name can have a sweet baby version, but personally I really think those should be for family only and disappear fairly early on too. Why don't you try cutsifying your own name and then introduce yourself to strangers for a few days and see how it goes down? It's important to remember that your baby will only be a baby for a very short time really.

Any name that swings in and out of fashion name is likely to be dating I agree.

Boodle has said it all really. Fine for a baby if you must but sickly for anyone older than 4.
