For a boy. Do you like it or does it make you think of Emmerdale? Discuss.

dont even THINK about it! imagine the teachers in the staffroom........

ShowOfHands · 01/05/2010 20:54

I imagine teachers in the staffroom necking vodka and trembling actually. Amos is the least of their problems.

Vroom vroom, yes that's just what dh said last night before he stripped me and gave me a good oiling.

Now there's an image.

But he really will be called Anus in the playground. I can guarantee it. (I've known a couple of Amoses).

My puppy is called Amos. dh and I used to watch Emmerdale Farm (so long ago it was actually about farming), and always said we'd have cats called Amos and Mr Wilks.

I'd not think about it as a name for a child really, but then we were going to call dd Ezra (which was the name of Amos from Emmerdale Farm's no good brother).

Beautiful. Love Asa too.

I think Amos is a lovely name (we had a cat called Amos). There is also and Irish or Scottish name - Moss which I think is quite nice, too. I think it has the same meaning as Matthew but I could be wrong.

And you have to be careful with Ezra/Esra - especially if spelled with an 's', once kids go through that speling names backwards phase, you're doomed.

Amos on the hand usually requires canestan.

I really like Amos, but the DP vetoed it as its one of his friends Surname!

Lol Lulu. Our potential Ezra turned out to be a girl, so we never used it. I hadn't thought of the "Arse" possibilities
