Thoughts on Lainey or Laina please

We are having real trouble deciding on a girls name. She is due in 4 weeks, so time is rapidly running out.

What do you reckon to Laina or Lainey -- we quite like them, but worried they are too similar to lane (i.e. passageway).

Been scouring the interweb but no joy -- other thoughts include Juliet.

(This is my first posting, been interesting lurking for a while)

Thanks

Lainey looks like it might be French for woolly.

The name is Lena surely. Agree Elena also lovely though the one I know pronounces her name E-le-na not E-lay-na.

I really like Lainey for a girl and Laine for a boy, know of two Laine's over the years. Not so keen on Laina.

I love Lainey - I think it's Irish - I've met a Lainey

Leine is Irish for shirt or blouse. (pr Laina)

Both sound like made up names for some American soap. Not my cup of tea.

wickedfairy · 06/05/2010 18:19

what about Elaina - that is my cousins name and then you could use Laina as a nickname??

No and no.
