Hi, thinking of Heidi if I have a girl. What do people think of the name?

I love Heidi. Was hoping to have one but DC2 was another boy.
My only concern was it was a bit cute; but given that she will be growing up with Poppy, Lilly, Millie and Izzy, I decided it would be OK...

SusieCarmichael · 25/04/2010 15:31

@ heidi equaling german whore!

do you not think of goats and mountains?

MiaWallace · 25/04/2010 15:47

Really, really dislike Heidi, I'm afraid.

Paulinespens · 25/04/2010 22:08

I quite liked it before that super-chav Kerry Kuntona called one of her kids Heidi.

SusieCarmichael · 26/04/2010 00:19

nice, really nice

sophiesmummie · 26/04/2010 15:17

With my German background, Heidi just sounds so wrong, almost comical. Not sure whether this is becaue it is rather old fashioned there (but not in a retro chick way) or whether it is due to huge success of the tv series 'Heidi'. I'm just being honest .

PictureThis · 26/04/2010 15:22

no no no no.

mathanxiety · 26/04/2010 17:39

I think of goats and goat cheese, and yodeling.

Doozie · 26/04/2010 17:56

First thing I think of... she lives in a log cabin in the mountains and is good with goats. In her spare time she poses for Playboy. Oh, and Kerry Katona.

I loved the name though when I was about 8 years old...

hocuspontas · 26/04/2010 17:58

Hi-de-hi is the first thing I think of. Then the story in the Alps. Not sure if I like it or not.

nikkisbump · 26/04/2010 18:24

I love Heidi

colie · 27/04/2010 00:15

I have only ever known one Heidi (apart from the booke Heidi, the girl living in switzerland).

Well, the person I knew called Heidi was a right cow and horrible, horrible person to boot so sorry, hate the name.

Also, noone ever "got" her name. People just constantly called her by the wrong name. Didn't amuse her but amused me no end.

Sorry, went off on a tangent.
