Pregnant with dc3, we think it is probably a boy but don't know. DH very keen on Albert nn Bertie but I have gone off it suddenly.

ds are Frederick and William

I like Henry but think we sound a bit too 'royal' with it.

George also a bit too 'House of Hanover' sounding.

I quite like Sebastian, Gabriel and Hugo but dh doesn't.

I also like (but can't use due to middle names or cousins)
Rupert
Edward
Charles
Oliver
James

Any ideas please? Or can you persuade me that Albert is good? TIA!

I like your suggestions Sebastian, Gabriel and Hugo more than Albert.. how about Alistair, Alexander,Arnold they are a bit similar to Albert?
Would have suggested Alfred but probably too close to Frederick
I think George sounds fine with the others personally..

twolittlemonkeys · 21/04/2010 13:21

Don't like Albert. Love Edward, James, Oliver and I think George would work well too.

Prinpo · 21/04/2010 13:27

I love Rupert - it's always been a favourite of mine. Are you sure you can't use it? Personally, I'd avoid another royal name - it might sound a bit themed.

I'm afraid I don't like Albert. I was pursued by an Albert for many months and it really put me off .

Some suggestions which I think would go with your two other boys' names:

Gilbert (I'm not 100% about this but it's similar to Albert so DH may go for it)
Ralph
Rufus
Angus

Congratulations in advance, btw!

youremindmeofthebabe · 21/04/2010 13:27

Louis?

weasle · 21/04/2010 15:09

thanks for suggestions. Albert not scoring highly then!

DH says no to Rupert.

Rufus and Ralph were on my longlist but i think Rufus is best on someone ginger (which he might be) and i like Ralph pn Rafe but not RaLph and don't want to spend my life correcting people.

Alexander also off as godson is this.

Arghh!

What about Robert? Classic like your other 2 ds , could also have nn bertie. But I like Albert.

katechristie · 21/04/2010 15:32

George, Thomas, Robert all fairly classic, stand the test of time, go with your 2 boys name already?

janajos · 21/04/2010 15:44

If you like classic what about Archie (cool but masculine I think)! I also like Jesse, but not all agree with me on that one!!

AdasMum · 21/04/2010 15:45

I quite like Finn but does not really go with your list of more classic names.

Kathyjelly · 21/04/2010 15:45

Not keen on Albert either.

Theo? or Michael?

dizzydixies · 21/04/2010 15:57

how about

Sidney
Gabriel
Hugh
Walter

tryingtobemarrypoppins2 · 21/04/2010 16:04

We have a Henry and a very royal surname!! Works though!

mathanxiety · 22/04/2010 15:58

I like Albert and also Arnold.

How about
Patrick
Nicholas
Christopher
Gregory
Anthony
Andrew
Ivo

padraig · 22/04/2010 16:02

NO to Oliver. So so very common.

How about Michael, Nicholas or Christopher/Christian?

welshandproud · 22/04/2010 16:10

I actually like Albert. DD1 wanted us to name DS2 Albie. I also like Sidney,Eddie,Gabe,Fin,Arlo and Jed, althou had to abandon Jed when DP insisted as an I name as middle name so everyone would call him jedi!
Good luck and congratulations

weasle · 22/04/2010 21:19

Thanks very much.

Lots of names mentioned were on my original list. I will go over it again with dh at weekend.
