Am I justified in thinking that DH has somewhere lost sight of reality? I thought he was joking, but apparently not.

GladioliBuckets · 20/04/2010 22:49

Cleo on its own or Cléa are nice, Cleopatra is too comedy.

Other dominant ladies:
Boudicca
Lucrezia
Margaret

Your DH has lost the plot. Don't do it. Have you pointed out how much your DD will hate him in 13 years' time?

Magaly · 21/04/2010 09:19

what about Clio with Petra for a middle name!! much nicer and less baggage. Funny though.

CakeandRoses · 21/04/2010 10:46

I've got a soft spot for 'daring yet historic' names like this but even I think it might be too much to for your DC to carry off. Cleo/Clio or Clea would certainly be easier.

Tis weird that Cleopatra hasn't become more popular tho when you think of other names that have. Maybe one day Cleopatra will be revived and will appear in the top 100?

I was assuming this was the choice of someone mid pregnancy for which hormones can safely be blamed but your DH!!

Cleo cute though but possibly ruined by car.

debaronz · 21/04/2010 14:45

I prefer it to Cordelia which seems popular on MN.

crumpet · 21/04/2010 14:53

I had Clio on the short list - channelling Greek mythology rather Egyptians.

cumbria81 · 21/04/2010 14:59

Oh dear God.

No.

GreenGardenia · 21/04/2010 16:05

I think Cordelia is fab v v pretty & elegant.

But I always LOL when someone says "What do you think of Bill?" and someone replies "I prefer it to John."
