Hmmm...not keen on either. Sorry.

They're a bit too hockey-captain for me.

debaronz · 17/04/2010 12:54

I prefer Arabella. People will say it's a horsey sounding name but that is no bad thing, what's wrong with outdoorsy? It has more character than Felicity which sounds a bit prissy and lispy.

LetThereBeRock · 17/04/2010 13:42

Felicity.

remaincalm · 17/04/2010 22:40

My niece is Arabella and if I have a girl then she will be called Felicity. I love both names.

TrowelAndError · 17/04/2010 22:43

Felicity - how wonderful to go through life with a name that means happiness.

weepootle · 17/04/2010 22:44

Arabella.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 17/04/2010 23:00

Felicity - I think it is a beautiful name.

motherlovebone · 17/04/2010 23:16

Arabella.

loads of nicknames.
fun sounding name.

Felicity sounds grey to me.

muminthemiddle · 18/04/2010 00:12

I like both and would find it hard to choose.

Which goes best with your surname?

DilysPrice · 18/04/2010 00:15

I knew a complete cow at school called Felicity, also the only plausible abbreviation is Fliss which is dreadful (unless I'm forgetting some alternatives).

Arabella is almost stereotypically posh but has a lot more scope for good abbreviations.

willowinthesea · 18/04/2010 09:17

mumuminthemiddle surname is westwood and i really cant decide which sounds best
felicity westwood
arabella westwood

Felicity Westwood definitely sounds the best

SpiderWilliam · 18/04/2010 15:18

Flic is another nn for Felicity.

Think I prefer Arabella Westwood because I don't like the repeated "s" sounds in Felicity Westwood.

BitOfFun · 18/04/2010 15:43

Felicity.

LuciaRose · 19/04/2010 14:40

I love Arabella Westwood - absolutely gorgeous name. Not so keen on Felicty.

Paulinespens · 19/04/2010 19:48

Felicity is lovely. Arabella is not.

bowbluebell · 19/04/2010 20:02

Arabella- It's a lovely traditional name, and goes back many years, not just for pony clubbers!

I've got an Arabel; we agonised over adding the -la, but decided to go for the English version as both middle name and surname are French.
