What do you think of Macy rose as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

I think it sounds like a department store hooked onto the same middle name as everyone else uses. Maisie is nice, but not Macy. It sounds hard.

I also think see that you added it to the Baby Name Finder. Why do people do that, add a name and then say "but it's listed" like it gives it credentials?

malovitt · 08/04/2010 07:22

I don't like it.
Macy sounds American.
Rose as a middle name is really, really common.

youremindmeofthebabe · 08/04/2010 08:41

Macy reminds me of Mace.
Not in a good way.

I like Maisie,a bit better, and i do love Rose, as a first or middle name.

Like Tortoise I would immediately think NY dept store. Linked to one of the compulsory middle names that they hand out in the maternity ward - Rose/Grace/May/Mae..yawn away..

A department store, and not even a particularly glamorous one...

blametheparents · 08/04/2010 10:30

DD has a friend called Macey, which I like

muminthemiddle · 08/04/2010 10:31

ok. Not my choice remimds me of Macy Gray.

notso · 08/04/2010 10:31

I love Macy.
I really like Macy Gray's music and I know a very cute three year old called Macy.
Rose is also a lovely name.

confusedfirsttimemum · 08/04/2010 10:40

Honestly? I think it sounds like a shade of lipstick. Sorry.

mathanxiety · 09/04/2010 19:00

Macy sounds like emaciated. And it's a store. And a Thanksgiving Parade.

wahwah · 09/04/2010 19:09

It doesn't sound like the name of a girl with a 2.1 from Nottingham in biochemistry, but maybe that's a good thing...

Scrudd · 09/04/2010 19:10

Ick.
