AUDREY - Hepburn or Corrie?

I don't even know if I am having a girl, but I just love this name. However, my mum is a ridiculous soap watcher and I just know what her first comment would be. Which makes me think maybe other people would think of that old woman in Coronation Street (is she still in it, if not then perhaps that would help?).

I haven't come across any Audrey's at all. What do you think?

Little Shop of Horrors. She's lovely

Disenchanted5 · 06/04/2010 19:18

I like it and don't watch corrie,

how about Aubrey for something a bit different?

lifeas3plus1 · 06/04/2010 19:20

I automatically think Audrey Hepburn but then I'm not a soap watcher and I love her movies.

It's a lovely name.

DomesticG0ddess · 06/04/2010 19:21

Isn't Aubrey a boy's name?

Little Shop of Horrors

Disenchanted5 · 06/04/2010 19:23

Unisex, though apparantly most common to girls these days.

I like unisex names though, my daughters called Rorie.

Fourleaf · 06/04/2010 19:32

I think of Corrie, sorry!

Disenchanted5 · 06/04/2010 19:39

Her off corrie will be probably be gone by the time your DD starts school though?! Sad but something to consider!

nannynobnobs · 06/04/2010 19:40

Definitely Little Shop of Horrors, but this is a good thing

sleepyhead3 · 06/04/2010 19:48

Lovely! I definitely think of Hepburn. It is popular in The States at the moment.

TinyPawz · 06/04/2010 19:53

I think of my crazy aunt! She is the live and soul of any party and always a shoulder to cry on when needed.

Lovely name association for me. (Was a name I considered for my own DD too)

NonnoMum · 06/04/2010 19:53

We had a French student stay with us a few years ago with that name. She was intelligent and lovely and languid. Have loved that name since.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 06/04/2010 20:12

Hepburn - and a lovely older lady I know who is vibrant, funny and intelligent.
I think it is a beautiful name

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/04/2010 20:12

Hepburn everytime

fairybubbles · 06/04/2010 20:43

My first thought was how lovely. It's a very nice name.

mathanxiety · 06/04/2010 20:44

Hepburn to me. I think 50s chic -- I love the name.

ilovepiccolina · 06/04/2010 20:46

Hepburn.

I'm a Corrie fan but didn't make the connection, so that must be good!

5DollarShake · 06/04/2010 20:46

Definitely time for a revival.

Audrey Tautou is beautiful, too.

juneybean · 06/04/2010 20:54

Neither, I actually adore it!

ellesabe · 06/04/2010 20:56

My Grandma is called Audrey and I love it!

Lovely. Was on my shortlist, but this bump is a boy alas.

I don't watch Corrie so my only associations are Audreys Hepburn and Tatou - both lovely.

Shaz10 · 06/04/2010 21:18

I thought Little Shop of Horrors. I love that film! Also love the name.

PlumSykes · 06/04/2010 21:22

I love it, but friend was reduced to tears last month the day after her DD was born, by her MIL telling her that Audrey is the name for a nasty old battleaxe of a woman. She was too upset to use the name, and has gone for something equally pretty.

I still think it's lovely though!

preggersplayspop · 06/04/2010 21:24

I think of Audrey Tatou also, who is very beautiful. A friend of a friend is called Audrey and whenever she is referred to I have never thought of Corrie.
