Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

I like Josie the best

In order of my favourite:-

Josie
Martha
Alice
Sophie

I, on the other hand, don't like Josie but do like Josephine. The others are lovely, especially Martha. Sophie's a bit ubiquitous.

I love all of the first three, but Sophie is a bit overdone IMO.

Martha is lovely. Not so keen on the others.

Martha and Alice both lovely.

I like them all, but would put the full name as Josephine and just Josie for short.

Thanks! Have reservations about Sophie and Alice's popularity too and the new Sophie Dahl programme looks really irritating which is putting me off. Do you think Josie has to be short for Josephine?

It doesn't have to be but people will assume that it is. It gives her the choice when older. Sophie or Sophia is very popular-is Alice at the moment?

Love them all but love Alice the most!

Thanks all! I love Alice too but there are lots of Alices around here at the moment and my SiL rang up upset yesterday to say we can't use Alice as that's her name if she ever finds a man, gets pregnant and has a girl. I'd ignore her and DH definitely would too but I can't be arsed with a family feud or something equally crazy.
