What do you like alfiemama?

lifeas3plus1 · 02/04/2010 15:33

Noah and Pippa.

alfiemama · 02/04/2010 15:34

Me and hubby like different things sweetkitty, he loves Evie but I think could be quite popular.
I quite like them all lol

Thanks Lifeas3, I really like Noah, very soft and gentle

I know what that feels like I am on the baby names thread myself just now trying to name this boy due in 5 weeks.

Out of your list my favourites would be:

Noah

Hattie

Evie is v popular right now I agree, in DD2's nursery class of 18 children there is 2 Evie's, 1 Eve and 1 Eva!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 02/04/2010 15:38

I like Noah and Flynn for the boys.

Afton and Rosalie for the girls. There's a beautiful song by Robert Burns called Sweet Afton
" flow gently sweet afton among thy green braes, flow gently I'll sing thee a song in thy praise "

alfiemama · 02/04/2010 15:41

It's so hard isn't it sweetkitty? A name is so important.

What names are you coming up with?

alfiemama · 02/04/2010 15:43

Ooh Im glad you said Afton, Ilovegregoryhouse, we both like the name, but didn't know if it was too far out there.
Lovely verse.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 02/04/2010 15:54

In fact, I like it sooo much, I might nick it if DC4 is a gal. If you don't mind of course .

alfiemama · 02/04/2010 15:56

Not at all, I think its a beautiful name and a big compliment if you do nick it

We have narrowed it down to 3, Elliot, Matthew and Marcus, this is our first DS after 3DDs so you would think we would have had a boys name.

alfiemama · 02/04/2010 17:55

What are your dd's called? I prefer Matthew and Elliot is sweet also.

Marley -- love
Noah -- meh
Casper -- like, but prefer Caspian
Flynn -- no
Jesse -- no
Henry -- love

Afton spelled with O -- LOVE, also love Arden, and I don't think it's too 'out there'; the only quibble I have is the cigarette name, Sweet Afton, reputed to be Jean Paul Sartre's favourite cigarette... Don't know if they still make them though.
Eden -- too popular, it will become Edie and blend in with all the little Ediths/Edies
Evie -- Too popular
Hattie -- Love, as nn for Harriet or Henrietta
Keeley -- Like
Rosalie -- Like
Pippa -- too insubstantial
Maisie -- fluffy
Betsy -- like a lot as nn for Elizabeth

alfiemama · 04/04/2010 09:52

thanks mathanxiety, ooh never realised about the cigs, not sure now, I asked my friend about Afton and she said, ooh no, yuck, I know it shouldnt but kind of puts you off.

Hubby loves Marley, so he was pleased you said you liked this.
