DS2 is due in July. Here are the names I've shortlisted:

Ted
Frank
Rex
Hector
Wilfred

DS1 is Arthur. Which would you pick?

Hector or Ted. Like them all though.

blogpage · 22/03/2010 11:11

Edward with Ted for short.

dizzydixies · 22/03/2010 11:12

Hector or Ted short for Edward

SoupDragon · 22/03/2010 11:13

None of them.

DinahRod · 22/03/2010 11:13

Edward or Wilfred

Journey · 22/03/2010 11:37

Ted - reminds me of Ted Bundy
Rex - is for a dog
Frank - don't like at all
Hector and Wilfred - dated old men's names

Edward, William, Harry are much nicer.

Pasiphae · 22/03/2010 11:40

Hector or Wilfred are perfect with Arthur.
Edward is fine but Ted and Rex and Frank lack character in comparison.

MadameCastafiore · 22/03/2010 11:42

Hugo or Otto.

motherbeyond · 22/03/2010 11:44

soupdragon,that wasn't very helpful!

l liked hector, until my father reminded me it was:to hector....put me off.how about hugo instead?
i think teddy' s quite sweet.
wilf?

IzziB · 22/03/2010 12:00

Edward, he can be Ted or Ned or Teddy or Ed or Eddie.... As you're not certain go for the one with the most variations. I like them all, except Rex. I have good friends called Wilf, Ned and Heck and they are very cool boys!

CuppaTeaJanice · 22/03/2010 12:04

Ted - a name that would suit all ages. Would he be just Ted or Edward/Edwin?
Frank - quite a serious sort of name. Also the name of the government's anti-drugs campaign.
Rex - that arrogant twat from big brother a couple of years ago.
Hector - Hector's House. Doesn't go well with Arthur either.
Wilfred - this would be my choice. Wilf for short. Not Willy.

To be honest they all sound like the committee from the Senior Mens Forum, but I guess with an Arthur as well you like old-man-chic names.

jellybeans · 22/03/2010 12:42

Ted...like
Frank...butcher
Rex...dinosaur/toy story
Hector...dislike
Wilfred....awful

birdofthenorth · 22/03/2010 13:06

Ted or Rex. I think Rex is brilliant but we have an R surname so it'd sound ridiculous!

I love the name Arthur - it's one of my top two choices if we have a boy.

For this one, I think either Ted or Hector are the best. Although the only one I really dont' like is Rex. If you went for Ted, I'd probably go for Edward on the birth certificate.

youremindmeofthebabe · 22/03/2010 14:49

Ted.or Rex, but does make me think of a dog a little.

NOT Hugo.

hoops1 · 22/03/2010 14:50

Ted!

thirtysomething · 22/03/2010 14:55

Ted or Edward with Ted for short as others have suggested.

Not keen on any of the others, sorry, but if I had to choose from them would say Hector.

Sorry but I think Wilfred, Rex and Frank are all old-men-down-the-pub names!!

lottiejenkins · 22/03/2010 15:01

Wilfred........ but im biased with my on ds being a Wilf.........

Tillyscoutsmum · 22/03/2010 15:03

I like all of them but think Hector is the best one

twosofar · 22/03/2010 16:13

Love Wilfred as have one already.
Wanted Hector for potential DS3 but sounds wrong with surname so have moved onto Rex!!

The only one I don't like is Frank as it reminds me of Lampard.

Great names though x

Fourleaf · 22/03/2010 16:32

Ted - nice as nickname for Theodore/Edward
Frank - great but has to suit them
Rex - strongly dislike sorry! Reminds me of a horrible big dog
Hector - not great IMHO
Wilfred - best one I reckon. Wilf is SO sweet! Also could be Fred/Freddie/Will.

MrsJohnDeere · 22/03/2010 16:37

Wilfred
or Edward with Ted for short
