We've just found out that we are expecting our second little girl! our first daughter is called Raimee, so I want our new baby to have a name thats too common either (to avoid future upset in 15 years time!). So far we like Summer, Ava, or Madilyn. I quite like Riley too tho DH is not too sure on that. Any ideas and what would you choose out of the 3 above? thanks!!xx

Congratulations! I would avoid the matchy-matchyness of Riley and Raimee, and I don't like Riley anyway... I would also avoid Summer -- would sound too like Rainy Summer. I like Ava, and Madeleine if it's spelled that way, not Madilyn.

oops i meant to spell it madalyn, i saw it spelt like that on a baby site and thought it looked quite nice!i agree withe the riley and raimee being too matchy! i also love Jaimee for a girl but wouldnt go that way- rhymes too much!i like ava tho dh prefers madalyn so have no idea what way we will go! i quite like summer but i can see what you mean- people get Raimees name mixed up enough as it is, so would no doubt think it was Rainy and Summer lol.

Ava.

Ava and madeleine if you spell it proper like.
You could also take her to Paris to show her the place she was named after or the books. Just my romantic vision I suppose. I think people would always spell her name incorrectly too.

Ava

Riley is bad enough for a boy IMO ,really not nice for a girls name

Ava is lovely as is Madaleine

I think the miss-spelling looks awful.

BravoJuliet · 12/03/2010 23:19

Riley is popular in America so it might become more popular here. Elvis Presley's granddaughter is called Riley and she's a model now. So awful though I personally think it is, it may be on the rise.

My favourite would be Madeleine.

Ps I like Summer. I'd pick that if I were you Raimee and Summer sound more in the same style.

Clary · 12/03/2010 23:34

The only Riley I know is a boy so I wouldn't go for that.

I like Ava very much. I only know one. Madalyn spelled like that condemns her to a lifetime of spelling it I am afraid. Summer is NTMT tbh.
