I imagine Jake to be a naughty boy in the class. I also find it a bit 90s. He has a brother called Ryan. Teachers dread them

Oscar wears Boden. Has a brother called Freddie. Home Counties.

Charlie is lovely.

yellowmum84 · 11/03/2010 10:54

might you have a Charlie by any chance Bucharest from that big grin?

Overused and too common imo.

tartyhighheels · 11/03/2010 10:56

oscar is a snakes name

Bucharest · 11/03/2010 10:57

Nope! My one and only is a girl (whose name frequently gets dissed on here...)

skidoodle · 11/03/2010 11:00

charlie not nice imo

like jake and especially oscar

all very popular names

Kyrie · 11/03/2010 12:02

I really like Jake. It isn't as on trend as the other two at the moment so should be fewer of them about.

Oscar is nice though, not keen on Charlie, a bit of a little boy's name imo, not so good for a grown up.

bellissima · 11/03/2010 15:33

Like them all.

But don't use Charlie and Oscar in the same family. As I've said before, my (continental) SIL has four boys, including a Victor and an Oscar. Naturally I refer to the other two as Tango and Foxtrot.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 11/03/2010 15:49

DS2 is Charles, so it doesn't need to be a little boys name. We call him Charlie now, though

Jamieandhismagictorch · 11/03/2010 15:49

I like Jake, too

Like Jake and Charlie best - as nicknames for Jacob and Charles. Oscar ok but seems everywhere ATM.

Hulababy · 11/03/2010 22:09

I like Jacob but not keen on Jake.

I like Oscar.

I really like Charlie, but as a nn for Charles.

wiifat · 11/03/2010 22:12

Charles/Charlie is lovely name

verytellytubby · 11/03/2010 22:18

I love Charlie and Oscar.

jellybeans · 11/03/2010 23:53

I like all but Jake is my favourite. Charlie is abit too popular.

LyraSilvertongue · 11/03/2010 23:56

I have a Jake and I still really like the name.
There's another Jake in his class but afaik there aren't any others in their infants school.

LyraSilvertongue · 11/03/2010 23:57

I think Charlie and Oscar have become overly popular. Jake less so.

Dijjie · 12/03/2010 00:09

I must say I love the name Oscar, I think it sounds quite classy but can also be shortened to Oz to give it a slightly cooler and playground friendly edge!

I'm biased though as I had the name primed for our second....who arrived as a girl so ended up a Lila.

Only really like Oscar

MrsJohnDeere · 12/03/2010 12:37

Charles is OK. Don't like Charlie and there are lots of them round here.
Not keen on Oscar or Jake, partly because they're too popular (there are 2 Jakes under the age of 2 in my tiny road).
