My DD is Lily Alice and I am pregnant with a boy

Which do you like best?

Theo Edward or Finn Edward?

Lily and Finn sounds better

ChippingIn · 07/03/2010 13:20

Agree with Collision - Lily & Finn sound better together - but you might want to read the thread about names that are too popular - Finn is on there

What about...

George
Max
Cole

ninnienop · 07/03/2010 13:30

George and Max are more popular than Finn!

I have a Lily. I'm not fussed on popularity.

Finn, i love finn

Finn

I think Theo's lovely.

I love Finn too- DS might well have been called Finn, but we were put off by its recent popularity.

PhoebeLaura · 07/03/2010 22:15

I've got an Edward Finn. I wanted Finn Edward but DH wouldn't agree. Finn is a lovely name IMO - I guess that's why it's so popular.

I like Theo too although that's not much help

Pasiphae · 08/03/2010 12:30

Lily and Theo!
Finn is ok.
I always think of Lily as a "cheeky" name and Theo matches this more that Finn.

ninnienop · 09/03/2010 00:42

Thanks

Any more?

I prefer Theo.

PanicMode · 09/03/2010 09:54

I have a Theo so am biased - I actually don't like Finn that much.

It it helps in the slightest, a friend of mine has a Lily and her brother is a Rufus (I have one of those too!)

princessmel · 09/03/2010 09:56

Why are people so put off by popular names?!
I love Lily Alice.

I'd go for Theo.

ChippingIn · 09/03/2010 10:14

Why are people so put off by popular names?!

Because some people don't want their child to be one of several with the same name in the class and be known as John S, John T, John B etc - but rather as the only 'John'.

Poohbearsmom · 09/03/2010 10:16

Love Lilly Alice prefer Finn over Theo, BUT think Edward is fantastic and Lilly and Edward go really beautifully together xxx

Undercovamutha · 09/03/2010 10:19

I think Finn goes best with Lily.

ninnienop · 09/03/2010 10:34

Thanks.

I'd personally rather go for names that I love rather than just go for a name that is rare (which will probably become massively popular anyway!).

All the names I love just happen to be the popular ones.

I do worry about Theo Walcott in the World Cup scoring the winning goals, then all the football crew will be naming their child after their hero. It might turn out to be too much of a fad name?

Theo has definitely risen up the ranks since Theo Walcott joined (?) Arsenal and moved into mainstream property. When we chose it (he's actually a Theodore), it was about 150 on the names list (he's rising 6), but in last year's list, it was inside the top 50 and Theo was the fastest rising name. So it is definitely very popular - which I'm a bit sad about - but luckily we seem to have been a bit ahead of the curve.....
