HELP!! Mental Block on names.....

bluemonkey123 · 03/03/2010 12:06

Please help me, I am having such a mental block on names I don't like anything!!!!
Well I like some, but don't LOVE anything.

Currently have an Adam & a Jessica and our surname ends in the ee sound so nothing like Finlay or Charlie.

Need boys and girls suggestions, as we are not finding out. We like traditional names, but nothing too 'Faddy'
Current bests are;

Girls
Georgia
Hannah

Boys
Luke
Ben

Grateful for any and all suggestions.....

Thanks for the replies;

I love Charlotte, but just can't take the risk that it will get shortened to Charlie...I can say no all I like, but am not there at school!!!

I quite like Jerome, but DH won't like it I know...
William is cute.....

I think Patrick is an excellent name, and goes well with your others

bluemonkey123 · 03/03/2010 16:40

Jamieandhismagictorch, love your name (I used to get called this at primary school!!)
I really like Patrick too, but we have an aquaintance called Patrick who is down right irritating and massively egotistic (also tried to come on to me a couple of times in the past ) and thinks he is gods gift to women.
Unfortunately, he would think we had named the baby after him!!!!
otherwise that would be a definite contender.

I really like Hannah and Luke out of your choices.

bluemonkey123 · 04/03/2010 15:04

wow thanks everyone - really helpful and all along the right vein.

jamiandhismagictorch - I really doubt you would be married to the Patrick in question, he is not married, and I doubt anyone would be able to cope tbh!!!

I like Martha and Issac

I like Abigail, but lots of friends with baby Abigails...so would just be following the crowd and I like Madeline, but DH says it makes him think of poor little Maddie.

DH suggested Leia last night, which i love, so that is a definite addition to the list!!
Now we have Luke and Leia!!! Not Star Wars addicts I promise!

Will suggest the others tonight, thanks guys, keep 'em coming

If you like Leia, but want to avoid the star wars thing, how about:

Leah
Lia
Lyra

bluemonkey123 · 04/03/2010 16:05

I quite like the pronunciation of Leia (Laya) though

Charlotte can be shortened to Char or Lottie. Otherwise, how about:

Rosanne
Leila/Layla
Meredith
Esther/Hester

Marcus
Robin
Laurence
Francis
