Boys' names ending in a vowel

Hello, I have a hunch that we're having a boy - largely because we've got a whole list of girls' names we love and we can't agree on any good boys' names.

Our surname is Simpson and I'm keen to come up with a name that has a nice cadence combined with that. I think that means no rhymes or near rhymes - so Dylan, Reuben, William etc are out and certainly nothing ending in an s sound.

But thinking about it I think that most names ending in a consonant don't sound great with Simpson so I'm looking for some ideas of nice boys' names with softer endings.

Our shortlist so far:
Leo
Malachi
Oscar
Otto

Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Theo?

If you have Oscar on your shortlist, you could also have Noah.

(fwiw I think Dylan Simpson sounds ok but agree that other names too similar to surname would sound a bit comical)

Thanks very much for all your suggestions everyone. I particularly liked your list, SoMuchToBits. May try to persuade my husband to add Barnaby to the list...

Rory is my absolute favourite and I think it would sound great with Simpson but unfortunately I gave it to the baby-substitute kitten I got a few years ago when I was feeling like I'd never find a husband and I don't think Rory the cat would appreciate our taking his name back...

Absolutely anything Italian - bit poncey maybe though?

I like all of your shortlist btw.
