How would you pronouce Elana?

I have just come across this pretty name and am thinking of it as a middle name. Off the top of your head, how would you pronounce it?

I know how it is pronounced but want to make sure other people know iykwim.

When I saw it on the thread title I would pronounce it el-ay-na, but can also see el-ah-na after reading other posts. Not terribly helpful!

Just out of interest - why are people putting an "r" in it when its not in the word?

English people do that with loads of words. They are well daft, innit.

i-lar-nuh is how I think it would end up being pronounced although as a middle name it won't be a day-to-day issue.

Cos if it actually had an 'r' in it it would be 'Elarna' would it not?
