Amalia / Amaylia

Not pregnant or trying yet but have always liked this name and wondered what the general opinion is?

pro-nounced Am - may - lia

I thought it was Am -AH -lia. Like it that way, not so keen on Am-AY-lia.

I think people might confuse it with Amelia.

Or think it sounded like I'm- a- liar

I am not that bad at reading and I thought it said 'Amelia' at first. I think it will get confused as bellissima has already said.

I used to work with an Amalia - pronounced Am-AH-lia. She was Spanish. I think it's lovely, not so sure about Amaylia.

I would have said am-AH-lia too. Also I would seriously shy away from it with Amelia being so popular and Amalia being almost unknown. Recipe for trouble.
