Middle name decided: Diana, now what to go with it?

My DH has said that Pearl is "all right". I don't really want him thinking the name we pick is just all right, so, although I'm still in love with the name, I'm putting it on the back burner for now in the hope that he will change his mind in the coming months. Should he not do so, though, this is my current shortlist:

Ava Diana Whiteley
Charmaine Diana Whiteley
Constance Diana Whiteley
Felicity Diana Whiteley
Genevieve Diana Whiteley
Jasmine Diana Whiteley
Miriam Diana Whiteley
Rosalie (pn Rosa-lie NOT Rozzerlie) Diana Whiteley
Sylvie Diana Whiteley

Diana is for my Mum, Diane, who died when I was 13. Since I found out I was pregnant on the anniversary of her birthday, it is important to me that I honour her in this way.

What do you think of the combinations? Any other suggestions?

I like Constance and Felicity. Some of the others sound a bit too 'flouncy' for my liking but obviously, go with what you like and ignore me!

I like Diana, and your reason for choosing it. Miriam and Sylvie are lovely with it.

All lovely names. When I saw the title of the thread, I immediately thought "Lucy".

ChynaDoll2006 · 23/02/2010 21:57

Sylvie! So cute!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 22:02

Miriam or Sylvie

Strawbezza · 23/02/2010 23:42

Princess

Another vote for Sylvie here. I prefer Sylvie Diane aswell. What a lovely tribute to your Mum

jellybeans · 23/02/2010 23:52

Ava Diana Whiteley
Jasmine Diana Whiteley

I like the above

Thank you for all the comments. I do really like Miriam and Sylvie so it's hard to choose. I may yet decide to use Diane instead of Diana, ChickenInABasket, since there's less likelihood of folk thinking I mean Lady Di.

Hi - my mum died when I was 18 and my DD has Marilyn as her middle name in her honour. I think it's a lovely idea to use Diana.

Ava Diana Whiteley - Love this
Charmaine Diana Whiteley - No
Constance Diana Whiteley - OK
Felicity Diana Whiteley - OK
Genevieve Diana Whiteley - Love
Jasmine Diana Whiteley - OK
Miriam Diana Whiteley - Love
Rosalie (pn Rosa-lie NOT Rozzerlie) Diana Whiteley - OK (I know someone called Rosalia which I really like but not sure it goes with Diana)
Sylvie Diana Whiteley - Love

My mum was also called Diana so our DD is Elizabeth Diana in her honour. Other names on our shortlist were
Eleanor Diana

Ada Diana
Louisa Diana
Antonia Diana

From your list I like Genevieve and Miriam.

jellybeans · 24/02/2010 13:21

Also like Roseline-pronounced Rosaleen.

Feierabend · 24/02/2010 14:07

Why don't you use Diana as the first name? It's a great name.

mathanxiety · 24/02/2010 17:51
