OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think it's a boy's name? It is a bit too much like Audrey but still a nice name

boodleboot · 22/02/2010 15:26

its terrible....unless you are giving birth to a fast show sketch or something??

GrimmaTheNome · 22/02/2010 15:26

Yes, especially when they are at the age where d and b get written interchangably.

BendyBob · 22/02/2010 15:26

I like it! That lovely Bread song is called Aubrey isn't it? Nearly all Bread songs make me cry (in a nice way)

Not a fan at all.

The only Aubrey I've ever met was exactly how I managed an Aubrey to be and to look - old, well-educated, ex-theatre/drama type, cravat wearing, partial to the odd sherry at 6pm on the dot

Jamieandhismagictorch · 22/02/2010 15:43

Aubrey Beardsley

To me, it's a terribly posh name, which is fine if you are terribly posh ......

minipie · 22/02/2010 15:49

How about Austin? Similar feel but bit less... er... creepy?

ActuallyMyNamesMarina · 22/02/2010 15:54

Aubrey the Strawberry - at least that's what we called the annoying kid at school. In my opinion it's awful - sorry

TheBlasphemousShadow · 22/02/2010 15:59

It makes me think of the ditzy receptionist at the moment in LA ink...

HelenFF · 22/02/2010 16:58

It reminds me of the Patrick O'Brian books, which means I quite like it

mathanxiety · 22/02/2010 18:52

I like it but I think it has drawbacks.

PictureThis · 22/02/2010 18:56

I had a friend who I haven't seen for years and her brother is called Aubrey. He was called Aubrey the Strawberry at home which I thought made him sound a bit girly.

duchesse · 22/02/2010 19:03

My grandfather's name (born 1904). I think it's lovely.

Purplebuns · 22/02/2010 19:04

I love this name! OH hates it

MomBombadil · 22/02/2010 19:05

I was just going to post same Aubrey link. .. I loved Aubrey.

pointysayhiphip · 22/02/2010 19:20

yes, is most certainly too much like Audrey

LetThereBeRock · 22/02/2010 20:04

Yes he'll spend much of his life saying no it's AuBrey not Audrey.

dizietsma · 22/02/2010 20:58

You are absolutely not allowed to use this name! [irrational emoticon] It is my future sons name and I chose it because I expected him to be the only Aubrey under the age of 70 in the English speaking world, no-one here likes it so let weirdos like me use it!

chegirlshadabloodynuff · 22/02/2010 22:12

actuallymynameis did you go to school with my OH?

He suffered for a long time but now he is far to big and scarey looking for anyone to even mention his name!

It does sound very posh. I don't think it matters that it sounds like Audrey as most Audreys are in their 70s and 80s now.
