PandaEis · 21/02/2010 01:47

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2010 01:48

murder, she wrote?

PandaEis · 21/02/2010 01:49

Yep

PandaEis · 21/02/2010 01:51

here see!!

juneybean · 21/02/2010 01:55

Oh right lol no I don't think its an issue...

PandaEis · 21/02/2010 02:09

FWIW though i think the name Jessica is lovely

persephoneplum · 21/02/2010 06:08

I wouldn't do it, but then I think I watched just about every episode of that show as a kid in the 80s.

CarmenSanDiego · 21/02/2010 06:15

Oh dear, I would make that connection. But probably no-one under 16 would so it'll be less of an issue as she grows up.

sparkle09 · 21/02/2010 08:31

yes thats the connection i made, such a shame.

i had a similar problem with my name growing up, with lots of grown ups making a connection to a tv programme with just my first name.

i was really gutted i couldnt have jessica as a name due to both names being together i thought it would be worse than what i had to put up with.

Totally think you could use it..... its definitely most important that her peers wouldn't take the rip out of her.

And, if you're going to share a name with anyone, Jessica Fletcher is one plucky lady

FourLittleDucks · 21/02/2010 08:33

Sorry, I mean her peers wouldn't take the rip because its only our generation that would make the connection...

notsoteenagemum · 21/02/2010 08:43

I don't think it would be that much of a problem as fourlittleducks said its unlikely her classmates are going to make the connection.
If I was called Jessica I wouldn't be put off marrying a man with the surname Fletcher, but I love Murder She Wrote so maybe thats why.

MaggieMirabelle · 21/02/2010 09:38

Jessica Fletcher is a good person to share a name with. Nobody under 30 will get it anyway.
It's two normal names together so it sounds incidental, not like say Crystal Carrington.

sparkle09 · 21/02/2010 16:07

maggie, your so close to the problem i had but it was my first name only, and with that alone i have had alot of comments assuming i was named after said character. (which i wasnt!)

Spacehoppa · 21/02/2010 16:12

Yes, it is a lovelyname

psychomum5 · 21/02/2010 16:36

tis fine.

My surname is fletcher, and we wanted jessica when we were expecting our boys.....didn;t use it obviously.

I now have a neice with that name tho, and she is utterly scrummy, and no one comments as the TV programme is not on anymore so not in current thought (IYGWIM).

when we were expecting DD1, 16yrs ago, we pondered it, but didn;t use it as it was on TV.

if you want it, use it.

tis not as tho you are pondering paris hilton is it

MaMight · 21/02/2010 16:39

I thought you were going to say Rabbit.
