My DS (2 1/2) has just said we should call the baby Chips . Well, they are his favourite (even though he seldom gets them). Made DH laugh his behind off when i phoned him at work. Really cheered him up.

DD wants to call the baby Angel if it's a girl and Archie if it's a boy - she's been reading rather too much Princess Poppy lately.....

DS1 wants to have a sister called Rosie and a boy called Thunder . He's also vetoed almost every suggestion we've made, and whilst I don't want to completely give him the whip hand, I don't want him making puking noises every time he mentions his new sibling's name!

FeedTheBeast · 16/02/2010 15:32

My niece (4) wanted me to call the baby old bob - boy or girl!

SE13Mummy · 16/02/2010 15:33

DD1 knew that we weren't going to tell anyone our chosen name for DD2 (and she didn't know it either) so told people we were going to call her Curtains!

Her suggestion for her new sibling should it have been a boy.... Poo Poo Head!

She was 4 at the time!

I'm not having a baby but dd1 has a few names for a brother (not a chance she's getting one)

Sean
Alex

And a few others which i can't remember.

When my sister was born I wanted to call her Susan... it's her middle name

McDreamy · 16/02/2010 15:38

DD wanted to call her baby brother "Paint"

DorotheaPlenticlew · 16/02/2010 15:39

DS (2) wants to call his unborn baby sister Theo, or alternatively Jeremy, after his pals at nursery.

BellasYummyMummy · 16/02/2010 15:39

My niece wanted to call my DD rainbow...

MumNWLondon · 16/02/2010 15:43

My DD (6) wants to call her new brother Zev. She is very sure that this is what his name will be.

Actually both DH & I think its possible. I love Zac, but it does not go well with our surname... so maybe not, but I think Zev is more unusual but has similar feel. Its hebrew for "wolf" - not sure if thats a problem - DS's name means lion, so we can have an animal theme.

Both her and DS have short (3 letter names) so it goes well.

DS (3) wants the middle name to be Boogey Loogey... both DH & I think bad idea.

Then she suggested Biff, Chip or Kipper!

MrsGravy · 16/02/2010 16:10

'Chips' - love it!

DS wants to call the baby Mister Maker, regardless of sex.

DD, who will only entertain the idea of me having a girl, wants to call it either Chantelle or Cutie Pie.

There really are some brilliant names here. Young children are so funny and so sincere when suggesting them.

DD1 wants to call DS Ben, DD2 Jamie

up until we found out he was a DS DD2 wanted to call her Dora, DD1 Lola (watch too much TV?)

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 16/02/2010 17:17

IKWYM sweetkitty i'm sure DS's next suggestions would have been Postman Pat or Lightning McQueen (his next favourite things). Although Chips Lightning McQueen does have a little ring to it [losing my mind emoticon].

My brothers wanted me to be called Rapunzel apparently.

schroeder · 16/02/2010 17:22

My ds wanted to call our new baby "Naughty Norman"

5inthebed · 16/02/2010 17:23

When pg with ds2, ds1 wanted to call him Roary Tiger after the tiger at our Haven holiday.

AandO · 16/02/2010 17:27

Dn announced she had a new cousin Ashley......confused faces from us as we had called him something completely different. " Ashley, his name is James " she was 3 at the time . You might need to say it out loud a few times.

JeMeSouviens · 16/02/2010 17:32

I know for sure if I ask DS (2.8), he'll say dinosaur or cera (for triceratops)!

Every time he has a drawing from daycare and I ask him what it is, it's a dinosaur, durr mummy.

HappySeven · 16/02/2010 17:44

Fifi (good whether it's a boy or a girl, apparently) or Peppa Pig. Think we'll have to work harder at coming up with our own choices.

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 16/02/2010 18:31

Some of these are really making me giggle

RnB · 16/02/2010 18:42

PooPooHead. I've considered it but it doesn't go with our surname.

Vivia · 16/02/2010 18:43

My uncle, then aged 6, wanted to call his newborn sister (my mother) 'My Sweetest Little Rosebud'. He was encouraged to choose a 'real' name instead: my mum is named after the little girl her brother loved at school. Aw...
