Elliot - what to shorten it to?

Love the name, but I know we will naturally shorten it sometimes, at home if nowhere else, and would hate to accidentally call him Ellie!

Any ideas?

I know an Elliot who gets called Mel. Although I appreciate that's a bit of a leap.

My Elliot is usually Elliot, or Ell. I have a Millie, so is sometimes gets Melliot

CommonNortherner · 03/02/2010 11:50

E or Lee?

We deliberately chose a name we couldn't shorten because we're like that and still end up calling ds by his initial!

I'd imagine El maybe. It think it's a gorgeous name, and I don't think many people would shorten it to be honest.

How about Lot?

thedollyridesout · 04/02/2010 18:27

Shortens to Ells, lengthens to Ellington

fairimum · 04/02/2010 18:39

what about Eli?

Bobbiewickham · 04/02/2010 18:43

Our Elliot gets Ells, Boo (he pretends to hate this, comes from Elly Belly Boo when he was a baby), and went through a phase of calling himself Lio, which kind of works.

He also gets Elly Bells. And Ellsy Bob.

Poor kid.
