I'm sure this thread's been done before but I'm having a lazy moment. I think it's great, what are other people's opinions?

Wow, stressed, that's intense! Here it would only signify that you had "weird" parents, as most of the kids here are Ethan, Jake, Gracie, or Ava. (And of course a liberal sprinkling of Jayden/Kayden/Hayden/Madison/Addison thrown in for good measure.-Eyeroll emoticon-) In our town being Catholic usually means you're of German descent...like most rural Minnesota towns it's split pretty evenly between descendants of German Catholics (DH) and Scandinavian Lutherans (me). We're a mixed marriage, don'tya know!

But yes, I love Declan and think I'll try to use it in the future. It's nice to know what other people think of it. Of course DH and I are very nick-namey so the kid would probably end up being called Dec or Dec-O or Dex most of the time anyway. (Sometimes I think my DS actually believes his name is Sammo. )

Well now, Dec-o would be very north side of Dublin. A long, long time ago, two little boys were found abandoned outside a shop on the northside. They were aged about 2-3, and the shop people noticed they were left in their buggy for a good while so they investigated (you could leave children unattended outside shops in Ireland and other parts of Europe). The little boys knew their names as Anto and Deco. For some strange reason I've never forgotten that story I think there was a reasonably satisfactory ending to the family end of it maybe I remembered it because of the names. At the time it probably struck me as odd that they didn't know their full names. If you choose Declan, avoid Dec-o.

Yeah, it'd probably be Dec or Dex or similar. Or something completely out there. I call DS Honey-boy when I'm not calling him Sams or Sammo.
