I already have ds1 Harry James and ds2 Freddie Joseph, so really don't want to go for ie or y sounding name for dc3. I like

for a boy

Seth
Eric
with John as a middle name

for a girl

Beatrice
Elizabeth
Jenna
Mary
no idea for a middle name

My dp doesn't like any of these names but has no suggestions himself. argh!

What do you think of my name list? could you suggest any others?

I like Seth and all your girls names, but particularly Beatrice and Elizabeth.

tummytickler · 30/01/2010 11:39

I love Eric and Seth, and also John as a fn.
I also love Mary - really underused nowadays - cant remember the last time i saw a baby Mary (and i work on a labour ward!). Elizabeth is lovely - lots of great nn (Bess my fav!). Beatrice is dull imo, and Jenna is awful!

I would go for Eric John and Mary with a long frilly, girly middle name along the lines of Primrose, Cordelia, Louisa, Esmeralda, Clementine, Tabitha, Priscilla.

butadream · 30/01/2010 11:49

I love Eric John and I would go for Elizabeth with your other girls' names

my dp has just decided he likes Parisa for a girl, never heard of it before and sounds a bit out there to me.

Parisa is a ridiculous name! Sounds made up and Chavvy. May I venture to suggest that you get the casting vote on names?! You have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy better taste

Seth is the best from your boys' list - lovely, stylish name

Beatrice and Elizabeth - both beautiful and classy

momofnearly2 · 30/01/2010 19:57

Seth is lovely.

I have a friend who's name is Jenna but it's pronounced Yenna! I prefer that to the J sound.

Don't really like any of the other girl's names!

randomimposter · 30/01/2010 20:25

Not keen on any on your list really (but love your DC names - so you obviously have great taste!).
Think George goes really well with Harry and Freddie
George Jerome (keeps the J middle name theme)
OR
Will (iam) Jonathan/Joshua/Jacob

Girls...
Beatrice the best on your list, but prefer Clara or Eliza or Rosa...

QueenMercury · 30/01/2010 20:45

Thanks for all your opinions and suggestions.

I love George, but can't use it as it doesn't go with dc's surname, William is now added to my list.

My dp says Parisa is iranian (my dp has asian roots) I did make a promise to him years ago that if I got to name the boys, he could name the girls, I wasn't serious though I just wanted my own way at the time.

I like John the most of your boys' names. Seth and Eric are both a bit meh to me. And I love Jerome.

I love Beatrice and Elizabeth -- I'd be tempted to use Mary as a mn for a girl, because it ends with the Y sound like Harry and Freddie.

Some Persian names you might like for a girl:
Alma (learned, Arabic)
Ayla (ring around the moon)
Maryam (variant of Miriam)
Rahel (traveller)
Roya (dream or vision)
Soraya (rich)
Tara (star)

diddl · 31/01/2010 08:04

Like Seth but not with John.

Like Beatrice & Jenna with Elizabeth as a middle name.

QueenMercury · 01/02/2010 08:43

I really love Tara, I'm adding that to my list.
