One week to go - please name my baby!

Ok, we're having a boy. And we just cannot agree on names - a girl would have been settled on the day of the scan, but boys are seemingly soooo much harder! Maybe because DHs take more of an itnerest? I don't know. Anyway, the only common ground we have is as follows:

John (Johnny)
James
Alexander (Alex)
Miles

John will be the middle name if it's not the first name. Our surname begins with H and they all work well with it.

I would rank them in the order that you wrote them!

John - I really like this, very uncommon yet classic. I also like Jonathon.

James - Love it - DD would have been John or James. I like the nn Jimmy

Alexander - lovely name but I have a pet hate of names that can be pronounced different ways (short or long 'a' sound in the middle)

Mile - just doesn't do it for me but I do know a couple of people who love it.

Try imaging how you will introduce him to friends, this is our new baby *** what sounds best to your ear!

Jonathan / John or James. Don't like the other two,

at littledawley calling John an uncommon name.

We used to play the 'John' game when we were kids - go up to random strange men and say 'Morning John, how are you today? etc'. A couple of decades ago statistically one in ten men were called John. We confused a lot of people!!

I know a couple of Alexanders but I personally have no strong feelings either way about Alexander.
