Hi everyone

Am 38+2 and having a bit of a dilemma with girls' names. We had settled on Ivy if we have a girl but I have just seen a discussion on mn where most have said they are not keen on it or made the link with Poison Ivy!

Very new to mn and don't know how to create a poll so if you could just give me your thoughts on the following combinations I would be very grateful. We already have a son, Elliot. I also like Rowan, but not sure about using it because it is unisex and don't want her to be addressed as Mr!

Thanks! xxx

Ivy Rowan
Rowan Olivia
Olivia Rowan

Or any others you would like to suggest - still open to new names!

Hi I'm a Kaite (short for Katharine) and I've always liked both my names and have enjoyed having the choice. A very good friend of mine has just called her baby Ivy and I think that's lovely and still manages to seem a bit unusual. However maybe it is becoming more popular? I have just named my youngest Amelie and the only one I'd ever met was my little sisters half French best friend at school. Now apparently there's been some film and it's everywhere. Sigh.

Just wanting to issue a word to the wise...
NEVER TELL ANYONE THE BABY NAMES YOU ARE THINKING OF WHILST STILL PREGNANT. I made this mistake when pregnant with dd1 and everone had an opinion, some of which put me off some great names. For the following two I insisted my partner and I kept suggestions to ourselves. This worked much better.

Just add her other daughter is called Rowan and they have ended up calling her Rosie because she got fed up with everyone calling her a boy. I think it's a gorgeous name though.

There you see, now I don't need to have DC number 4: Alice Kate (well, Katherine) is the name I wanted to use for my second daughter, who ended up being a son!! Fantastic choice. Congratulations.

I like Olivia best.
