dc8 due 6weeks
siblings are bethany blake lydia tudor leighton tabitha and gabriel
shortlist in order of popularity are
felicity
matilda/mathilda
martha
above three i like but do not love but majority of children and dh very keen on felicity or mathilda majority go with felicity
martha a possiblity as all the girls have biblical names and one ds loves this name because of its martha in dr who
cecily i love but dh although moving in the right direction not convinced
letitia/leticia dh quite likes
finally as we have 2 names beginning withb2 with t 2 with l this happened by accident not design dh quite keen to have a g name so we have 2 with g if we go with this option only 2g names which have any appeal are
genevive
gladys i like but rest of the family loathe

I like Felicity or Letitia out of you rlist. Genevieve also good. I am liking the pattern for the names.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/01/2010 11:41

Mathilda (Tilly/Mattie), definitely

I see you have a Lydia (my fave girls name ATM)

yama · 23/01/2010 13:42

Felicity or Cecily for me.

PollyTechnique · 23/01/2010 14:22

Felicity is nice.
I like Matilda but without the h.
Martha sounds drab to me.
Genevieve is gorgeous!

momofnearly2 · 23/01/2010 17:28

Martha is a firm favourite here.

Genevieve is lovely though.

ShowOfHands · 23/01/2010 17:30

I adore Genevieve.

I have a Mathilda, but she is Tilda to most people. Can't bear Tilly, tis very twee but am swayed in this by the fact that I have the least dainty girl in the world.

RollBaubleUnderTree · 23/01/2010 17:31

Oddly, I have a Martha and one my son's also shares a name with one of yours..

very strange!

fonduechinoise · 23/01/2010 17:52

there are lovely names
i like Genevieve very much
just a suggestion ok ;) but i also like Gloria very much and Grace is big favourite of mine

mumofsevenplusfour · 23/01/2010 19:52

fonduechinoise
i love grace as well but one dd has grace mn and also very popular although dh has said this shouldnt be an issue
dh had mentioned gloria but id thought of a character init aint half hotmum but maybe i shouls be more open minded and think about it

fonduechinoise · 23/01/2010 20:02

mumof7... i think we all react to names because of someone we know, positively or negatively. it is terrible isn't it?!
Gloria. I just love and it makes me think of happy feet
Grace. I have 2 friends with that name and I think of Amazing Grace lol
I just think there are such beautiful names
Have just remembered that i have a colleague called Gillian "Gilly" ?

fonduechinoise · 23/01/2010 20:03

you must be mum extraordinaire with so many children
bet you could teach me a thing or 2 lol

mumofsevenplusfour · 23/01/2010 20:14

fonduechinoise
thats the problem thereare too many beautiful names out there and i really want to find th right one
dh loives gloria but when mentioned to all the dcs just went on no
which is part of the problem 8 people with opinions not just 2

OP posts:
bridewolf · 23/01/2010 20:16

no, scrap all those , go for OCTAVIA!

fonduechinoise · 23/01/2010 20:28

lol mumof7
what about Geraldine?
there aren't that many names with a G!

CirrhosisByTheSea · 23/01/2010 20:30

I think Felicity is the best and goes really well with your other names (love Letitia as well) I wouldn't try to contrive a 'g' name just to go with the others....just go with what you love most, imo

nevesnana · 23/01/2010 20:31

The only 2 biblical names with a G other than Grace I know of are Galatia [ga-LAY-sha]
and Gabbatha.
Let us know what you decide and good luck with the birth and new little babe.

Heated · 23/01/2010 20:41

All three of your initial girls' names are fab, as well as shortening Mathilda to Tilly you can also use Tilda.

Genevieve is very pretty, can also be shortened to Evie/Eve which also ties in biblically.

Non biblical but g names - Georgia/ina and Giselle.

mumofsevenplusfour · 23/01/2010 20:49

bride wolf we did think of octavia until somebody reminded us it was a skoda car
geraldine reminds me of dawn french i the vicar of dibley
cirrhosisby thesea i agreewith you about not contrivinga g name but humouring dh who thiks its a good idea
i still love cecily and dh since realising william the conqueror daughter was called it has decided it has pedigree and is at least prepared to consider it which is a
start
i think as things stand felicity matilda and cecily are the front runners unless we have alast minute burst of inspiration
dc 7 was hayden from week 20 but when he arrived he was so laid back aname meaning little fiery one didnt suit so gabriel it was so hopefully this one will fit her name when she arrives

Lorelai · 23/01/2010 20:50

I second Gillian - my sister's name and we hardly ever come across another one (Jill more popular, but still not common)

fonduechinoise · 23/01/2010 21:07

mumof7 - exactly my thought when i posted it
LOL
your front runners are lovely names
Looking forward to D-Day

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/01/2010 22:41

I'm still sticking with Felicity, as per every one of your threads so far!

mathanxiety · 23/01/2010 23:16

Love, love, love Letitia, like Felicity and Genevieve.

mumofsevenplusfour · 24/01/2010 12:50

think im going to bo to the majority and go with
felicity matilda arabella nn tilly
which hopefully keep everyone happy ilike felicity and think i can grow to love it
just as much as cecily

Wolfblass · 24/01/2010 15:38

Martha is a must for me (i too have a Gabriel and if we happen to be lucky enough to have another daughter i love Martha and Tabitha equally, unfortunatley i would need some serious arm twisting action here)

Matilda and Felicity are also lovely
