What are your thoughts on this name? It is very unusual and is Biblical I think?

I have never met one so I find it hard to imagine on a person, but I am really falling for it. My husband loves the name Finn so I think I may be able to sway him.

I did stick to the dry old stick in the end, if you remember? Much good it did me. Trollope killed me off prematurely anyway.
Maybe the OP should call her baby Plantagenet?

And baby Windsor who we are currently weaning on soup.

I knew a Phineas at university. He was a pleasant but slightly eccentric Biochemistry PhD student who wore odd, baggy trousers.

That's all I recall about him. Wouldn't use the name for a child of mine, though.

I think it's my favourite right now, such a wonderful name! It's a shame not all agree but I guess that's mainly because it is so very unusual, people have issues imagining it on a person.

I don't think it 'goes' with my children's names though. That's my issue.

it's his middle name, but was v nearly his first. i think it's a fab name.

Phineas has been struck off my list by dh as in French there's a rather mean word "fainéasse" which means lazy, and future ds would be mocked by his cousins and now someone has linked it to penis it's just a dead loss all round for us lol, typical - it was my favourite!

I love it - it was on our short list for boys.
