What do you think about the name Brooke?

I am not PG or anything but BF is and she is almost decided on this. I don't really like it at all, just wondered how others felt about this name. I will not be communicating how I feel about it to her btw not that insensitive

I like it, always have. I like 'nature' names, though I do realise that it's a different spelling.

It's not very pretty for a girl imo.

It's not a name. Well, obviously it is, but to me it's a verb or a noun. I always hear some delightfully coiffeured Renaissance actor posturing and declaring 'I will brook no refusal'. Then I swoon a bit and curse that I was born in the wrong century. Then I think of a stream of water and I feel calm again.

As a name it's very American surnamey and I am not fond.

But if your friend likes it...

I guess I'm in the minority - I like it a lot. I have a very cool and beautiful friend called Brooke, and the name suits her prefectly.

It's fine if you are American. I don't particularly like it though, but do have an American friend who suits the name very well.
