We already have an Isaac, there's German/Dutch heritage.

We love it. Particularly after reading The Book Thief.

Is it really bad though?

I love it.

I agree..... a message to you Rudy!
FAB. I can totally see it as a shortening for Reuben. I think it's much better than the like of say Cory.

Thank you all, I feel very secure in our choice now! Brilliant.

Hard bit done, now I just need to have the baby...

"I'm surprised at the positive response to Rudy; I hate it."

necessary? Really? Or just spiteful?!

OP - when people talk about unfortunate nickname variations... I would revel in affectionately calling him Rudy Dudy!

Thanks Lotster.

I already have visions of singing, 'Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, Ruuuudy' to him (should it be a he). I will most likely be the creator of the unfortunate nickname variations. The times which I call DS by his actual name are few and far-between!

Have to say I wouldn't use it, but that's because it'st the name of our town's erm 'challenged individual' who is locally famous for sitting all day in the middle of town screeching out full volume Bob Marley songs and trying to convince passing people that he is Jesus
