Love them all, sorry no help here...

My favourite would be Clementine, if pushed.
I also love Helena.

thisisyesterday · 08/01/2010 20:42

like them all but my absolute faves are:

Sylvie (or sylvia?)
Emmeline

Wattinger · 08/01/2010 20:44

What gorgeous names you have chosen! I think my favourites are Nell and Sylvie

pixiestix · 08/01/2010 20:44

In order, I like:
Nell
Sylvie
Emmeline
Clementine
Mabel

FiveGoMadInDorset · 08/01/2010 20:45

Can't choose they are all so nice, if pushed would say Mabel.

Esmee · 08/01/2010 20:45

They are all really nice, but I think I would have to pick Emmeline! I think it's classic, and unusual but not too 'out there'. Also you have quite a few nickname possibilities if you wanted to shorten it occasionally. Do you have a middle name picked?

MamaLazarou · 08/01/2010 20:46

They are all nice, except Mabel.

Xavielli · 08/01/2010 20:57

Nell is the only one I like.

sweetnitanitro · 08/01/2010 21:08

I really like Mabel, it's unusual too. I also like Sylvie and Emmeline but not keen on Nell or Clementine.

maxpower · 08/01/2010 21:12

Nell - but I'm biased, that's my DD's name!

incandescent · 08/01/2010 21:13

Sylvie. It's a lovely name for all stages of womanhood: sweet and girly when wee, but can be sexy, cool and collected for when she's older.
Mabel one of the old-fashioned names that just doesn't do it for me. Makes me think of flowery aprons and big bosoms.

BellaBalloon · 08/01/2010 21:34

Thanks everyone. Am so chuffed that they have been mainly well received! I can't test them out on RL peeps because did that early on in the pregnancy and got all sorts of responses that I did not want.

DH has just shortlisted to Clementine or perhaps Clemency
Nell
Mabel

I think I ditch Mabel because I don't think I would want to be 30 and called Mabel although it's a very sweet name of a kid imo.

I have history and connections with Emmeline and love it for that but has just been vetoed...

Clementine, Nell and Sylvie are all gorgeous

we considered clementine nn Cleo
Sylvanna nn Sylvie
and Penelope nn Nell for DD3

BellaBalloon · 08/01/2010 21:37

incandescent i totally agree with you on the Sylvie front. i think it's sweet for a little one and then sexy for an older one. Sadly DH just isn't feeling it.

MaryMungo · 08/01/2010 21:37

Sylvie as is and Nell if it's short for Helen.

BellaBalloon · 08/01/2010 21:38

dizzy may I say you have excellent taste

dizzydixies · 08/01/2010 21:42

thank you BellaBalloon - we didn't go with any of those however but still happy with the one we did choose!! we have 3 dds all with 3 names each

still an option for DD4 if that ever happens

ironlikealion · 08/01/2010 21:45

I only like Sylvie and Mabel from that list, or Nell if it's nn for Helen.

QandA · 08/01/2010 21:47

I like them all. Sylvie/Sylvia is becoming more popular now, but only because it is so lovely, though I prefer Sylvie out of the 2.

I am liking Clementine more and more, I really like Clem as a NN.

PollyTechnique · 08/01/2010 22:06

Clementine is beautiful!

Clary · 08/01/2010 22:14

OOOh Mabel is my all time fave but vetoed by DH name

To be fair it sounds a bit odd with our surname.

I also like Emmeline more because of associations.

natapillar · 08/01/2010 22:22

Clementine is adorable, and it isn't heard often. vry pretty name

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 08/01/2010 22:26

Clemency or Mabel, for me. Or Emmeline if you can reverse the veto!

bluesatinsash · 09/01/2010 17:37

Hi Bella

Love Emmeline and Sylvie and you are the one giving birth so have lots of leverage with your DP!

Don't like Mabel - bit too matronly...

BellaBalloon · 09/01/2010 17:46

Thanks Blue - Mabel has been shelved
