Holly- seasonal name?

We are considering Holly if this bump is another DD but when I mentioned it to a friend she said it sounds silly for a May baby. Its a seasonal name for someone born in winter.

What do you think?

I dont think, its silly but i have two friends with daughters Holly, born in December and January
I have two friends called Hollie and Holly also born before and after christmas.
Molly Mae, Milly Mae is nice if born in May

I think it's absolutely fine. It's an evergreen. I find it a bit twee when it's only given to winter babies.

Heather isn't just for autumn babies, is it? Rose just for summer babies? Iris just for.. erm.. is that a spring flower?

I know a Holly born in May

Your friend is wrong - there are many year-round Hollys!

my cousin is called holly, she was born in august

I would agree - However my DD is Holly and we have had numerous comments from people saying, bet she was a December / Christmas baby. Can get a little annoying.

Its a lovely name however and we didn't pick it for any seasonal reasons, would give it to DD no matter when she was born

There's a most-popular-baby-names-by-birth-month chart somewhere on tinternet and Holly does get a massive boost in December (and Jan to some extent) but it's still fairly common year round.
