wow you have SEVEN children? hats off

Felicity is lovely I think

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/12/2009 21:53

I wouldn't choose Gladys.
Both of the others are lovely (Felicity is a strong contender if we have a girl).

cyteen · 23/12/2009 21:56

Going with your other kids' names, I'd say Felicity

LynetteScavo · 23/12/2009 21:56

Felicity and Arablella are both lovely.

(Don't go for Gladys)

Personally I would go for Arabella.

MrsMattie · 23/12/2009 21:56

Felicity is my favourite of these. Gladys as a middle name?

Arabella.

LittleMontyontheDustyRoad · 23/12/2009 23:49

Please not Gladys.

bellissima · 24/12/2009 08:49

Felicity is lovely. To me Arabella is indeed too try-hard sloany. And Gladys just doesn't have the 'old time cuteness' of Violet et al.

mumofsevenplusfour · 24/12/2009 10:21

felicity was in my mind slightly more cute than arabella and is probably my favourite . gladys like everyone has said is just too old fashioned and not cute but we i was wondering what others thought . have also considered priscilla but think it might be too sloany or altering arabeela to arabelle but Dh not keen
thanks for everyone response any other ideas

felicity is my favourite, Arabella is getting quite common popular at the moment

catinthehat2 · 24/12/2009 11:29

Galdys Gladys Gladys!

She will be a character from birth to 109, always wear tons of makeup, smoke like a chimney, have millions of grand children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, you name it. Never stops talking.

A Gladys is a force of nature!

(at least the one I know)

Felicity definitely. Gladys too old-fashioned but maybe as a middle name? Agree Arabella too hard and makes me think of arrogant.

Not going for Octavia then?

FunnyLittleFrog · 24/12/2009 12:08

I bet Gladys will be the name in a couple of years.

serenity · 24/12/2009 12:16

Arabella is my middle name and I'll only admit it on here because none of you know me.... I loathe it, and when people knew what it was at school I was teased unmercifully. Even as an adult it's waved in my face as something to laugh at. Obviously you like it, and it's your DD and it's completely up to you, but I thought you might like to hear the view of someone who actually has to live with it....

Congratulations btw

eggandsoldiers · 24/12/2009 12:17

Go for Gladys it is lovely.

electra · 24/12/2009 12:18

I like Arabella

Doozie · 24/12/2009 12:47

Felicity, NOT Gladys

LittleMontyontheDustyRoad · 25/12/2009 23:36

Do you know something, perhaps its the xmas cheer, but Gladys is beginning to grow on me!

HohohoBumperlicious · 26/12/2009 09:10

Serenity I think it is more the case that middle names are generally fair game for piss taking. People don't generally take the mick out of Christian names but many middle names are sniggered at.

That said I don't like any of the names particularly but gladys the least.

bellissima · 26/12/2009 09:37

Sorry - I've already voted for Felicity but as 'names like Priscilla' go I actually rather like Pamela - like Priscilla it has a certain '1950s boarding school' edge to it but to me it sounds much nicer, Priscilla just sounds 'prissy'.

Problem is, I HATE 'Pam'.

serenity · 26/12/2009 11:21

You're probably right Bumper (and I am ridiculously over-sensitive about the damn name!)

MaggieAnFiaRua · 26/12/2009 18:41

i'd have to say gladys. i hate felicity. felix for a boy is nice, but there's something quite nauseating about felicity. there's no short form either.

if you like gladys, what about meryl? or carys?

catinthehat2 · 26/12/2009 19:36

Short form of Felicity IME is Flick
