My husband LOVES this name and as I cant think of anything at all this time, I cant think of a reason not to. But is it just me or is it a bit old fashioned now? I know lots of 'old' names are de rigeuer but have niggly feeling. What say you?

love it. always wanted it if we had a second ds.

Rachiesparrow · 22/12/2009 09:32

It's my brother's name too - I like it alot. It's got alot of character.

MummyTumble · 22/12/2009 09:56

i love it! thomas and christopher sounds great together

singersgirl · 22/12/2009 10:10

Nicholas goes well with Thomas too - another superfluous 'h'.

I think Christopher's a great name; my one-year old great nephew is a Christopher.

weeblewoman · 23/12/2009 12:48

I've always liked Christopher and it doesn't feel old fashioned to me. There's always Christian too.

nappyaddict · 28/12/2009 12:49

I like the nick name Kit.

SlartyBartFast · 28/12/2009 12:58

absolutely no problem with christopher personally

coldtits · 28/12/2009 13:12

t's nice

coldtits · 28/12/2009 13:15

I nearly had a Jonathan and a Christopher, except that I realised that Jonathan was the name of my ex, and Christopher was the name of his brother! Would have been too freaky.

sb6699 · 28/12/2009 14:15

My DS is Christopher. Its lovely.

Ineedsomesleep · 28/12/2009 15:13

I like it, and agree that Kit is quite nice too. A friend's son is called Kit, he's 5.

Think it goes well with Thomas, don't worry about it sounding boring, boys names do tend to be more traditional unless you want to go down the Jayden/Kayden route.

pranma · 28/12/2009 16:55

Its a lovely name.My friend's dgs is Chtistopher with Kester as nn.

LuckyC · 29/12/2009 11:11

It's a brilliant name. Go for it.

BarbieLovesKen · 29/12/2009 11:20

Absolutely gorgeous. I really love this name but agree with squish pleeeeaaase only spell it Christopher.

Christopher and Thomas are fabulous together. Am actually really at your names.

Yep - you have to use this..

When is baby due??

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 29/12/2009 11:22

Christopher is a lovely name and I wish my dh had been more keen on it when we named our boys!

KristinaM · 29/12/2009 11:22

its not old fashioned, its classic

muminthemiddle · 29/12/2009 20:48

Timeless classic.

zozzle · 02/01/2010 22:49

its OK - maybe slightly dull - but perhaps refreshing. Will be shortened to Chris which I'm not so keen on.

ChippingIn · 03/01/2010 04:05

It is quite a classic name and it's not one I'd choose myself (negative childhood memeories), but it's 'ok' - I'd use Kit.

However, the thing is that you don't love it and I can't see how you can choose it, if you don't love it?! Have you got to rush into deciding??

Boys names are difficult aren't they!

babybessa · 03/01/2010 12:12

Boys names really triksy - only ever loved Thomas so was easy first time. Never gave any thought to the fact I might have another boy - duh! Had my girl's name sorted... am 3 days overdue and still umming and ahhing. Prob fair to let the husband have at least one thing his own way in this whole baby malarkey.. he has been amazing all through both crappy pregnancies!

Don't be fooled into thinking Christopher is uncommon. It was very very common (i think it was in the top 2 names for the 70s/early eighties)and still is DS1 has 5 chris's in his year group of 60 boys !

Loujalou · 03/01/2010 20:19

I still call my brother Christopher - never really Chris. Good name.

loobylu3 · 03/01/2010 20:23

It's a good classic name which isn't popular at the moment. Kit would be a nice nn.
