too many rororaurau sounds

Mincepiedermama · 08/12/2009 12:00

Yup. Too many rororororors as MrsB says.

I love the name Aurora but find it difficult to say even without the added surname.

GhoulsAreLoud · 08/12/2009 12:01

How about Aurelia? I prefer that anyway.

persephoneplum · 08/12/2009 12:35

Awful combination I'm afraid. I can empathise as SO many lovely names fail next to my husband's last name

I also have a pet hate for names ending and beginning in the same letters:

Auro(ra) (Ra)lston

VicarInaTinselTuTu · 08/12/2009 12:42

im afraid it sounds like a trip to see the northern lights....

dont do it.

Cortina · 08/12/2009 12:49

I'd go for it if you like it. So many are paranoid about first name and surname combinations I find. It's interesting, I'd be curious about the child somehow when I heard the name...

A dull combination is a worse crime in my book.

gladders · 08/12/2009 13:24

no sorry -0 to be avoided.

aurelia sounds better with your surname

MamaLazarou · 08/12/2009 13:35

I like Aurora written down, but it sounds a bit wispy and unformed when spoken.

mathanxiety · 08/12/2009 17:51

Would be a pwoblem if she couldn't pwonounce hew Rs.

LaDiDaDi · 08/12/2009 17:52

Not right together I'm afraid.

OtterInaSkoda · 08/12/2009 18:00

"would you do aurora ralston?" sounds like you're asking if I'd partake in some kind of New Age thearapy

Aside from that, I like the name. Hellish for a dd who couldn't say her r's though

Scrumdiddlyumptious · 08/12/2009 19:41

Thanks ladies...will sit on it for a while...I know it sounds a bit off but part of me still thinks its a bit whimsical (probably self translation of stupid)...cheers x

I wouldn't.They sound awful when put together imho.

cloelia · 08/12/2009 21:54

Different name but similar sound, how about Oriel? old fashioned but interesting.
Or as per above, Aurelie would be easier than Aurora
Or, Ottilie?
