Evangeline for a girl or Evan for a boy?

Not due until the summer but am thinking ahead!! Already have 3 DCs whose names all begin with E (totally by accident) so can't break the mould. Evangeline (which I adore) would be shortened to Evie I should imagine which is fine.

I do like Evan but I do not love it and I already have a DS who's name is similar (ditto Elijah which I do love). Any other boys names beginning with E?

Both would work with our surname.

Edward - too old fashioned.
Ezra - reminds me of an old farmer from the US wearing dungarees and with a bit of hay sticking from his mouth!!

Serin - not sure why I think it's old fashioned really, just conjures up thoughts of an old toff in a smoking jacket with a cigar!!

Glad other people like Evangeline as I have always loved it since I heard the name of the actress who's in the TV programme, Lost (Evangeline Lilly).

I think having an Evan and and Ethan would be very confusing. Lovely names though!

What about Elijah (Eli) - I don't think it's too similar to Ethan

I don't think you can beat Elizabeth for a girl - can be shortened in so many ways, including Elle, which is nice

Evangeline is a bit of a mouthful (sorry), and the shortened Evie is v popular

ellis is cool for a boy, i like edward coz at the moment edward cullen from the twilight films is a big hit!!

elijah is nice, i know a little boy called elijah and he's gorgeous, i wouldnt use it myself but i do like it...ewan is lovely too...ewan mcgregor!! yes please!!
