We are settled on shortlist for girls (ie cecilia, violet or beatrixe) but can't agree on a boys name. Any suggestions?

CirrhosisByTheSea · 03/12/2009 23:59

Edward Chamberlayne sounds very distinguished to me....or Louis?

Rosie, i LOVE your suggestions, they have such a ring to them, almost as if I have heard them before.....

I like Gray and Blaise

sobloodystupid · 04/12/2009 15:13

... but every time I bring up Blaise someone weighs in with the "gay icedancer" connotation! I still love it.

Hullygully · 04/12/2009 15:14

And it's a girl's name.

MaggieNollaig · 04/12/2009 15:17

not gray, not blaise!! they sound like characters from days of our lives.

Ross Chamberlayne sounds good though.

sobloodystupid · 04/12/2009 15:34

It's not a girl's name - there is a rather dishy barrister with the name Blaise but I've said too much!

Hullygully · 04/12/2009 16:13

There's a girl Blaise in one of those Jackie Collins type books.

sobloodystupid · 04/12/2009 16:23

There's St Blaise, the patron Saint whose feast day is in Spring.
There's Blaise Carroll, distinguished legal eagle.

M'lud, I rest my case.

Ahem, and Blaise Smith a noted Irish Artist.

Hullygully · 04/12/2009 16:29

There's Blaise the vampy large-knockered woman in one of them there books.

sobloodystupid · 04/12/2009 16:36

I have never read Jackie Collins' work. I suspect from her own name that she delights in the ambiguity of male/female names?
I have heard of the wonderfully and the appropriately(?) named Modesty Blaise though. Hmmm, Blaise as a surname - I have heard of Tara Blaise a wonderful singer.

Hullygully · 04/12/2009 16:38

I think I may have made her up a bit by mistake..
