Hideous.

hideous? thats an awful name. surely not.

I think it'd be an improvement on Prudence.

I really do think it's awful I'm afraid.

I like it (though prefer and may well use Verity if dc3 is a girl).

Not very keen. Can't imagine a baby Prudence but then again they aren't babies for long. Agree that it makes me think of prude or rude not sure what nn you could come up with except Prue which is not great either IMO.

I love the name and Purdy.

It's one of those names that's great in theory, but when someone actually calls their DD Prudence people wince in horror, because it is an awful name to saddle a child with

A friend's sister was called Verity when I was at school but everyone called her Ves.

Don't like the 'Prude' part. Too much scope for teasing.

Makes me think of Kath & Kim's gift store characters saying 'Pruuuuee' in their awful accents.

Sorry I think it is a bit pretentious - prue is ok just about. It sounds like a throw back to the prudish victorian era (is it a victorian name?)!
