We are TTC at the moment and I can't stop thinking about names.
My shortlist is

Claudia
Isabella
Georgia

DD is called Olivia Kate so I am not overly bothered about the popularity thing.

Which one is your fave?
Any suggestions for middle names

Claudia - I'd pronounce it Clow-dia though, but where I live it would be pronounced Claw -dia.

All the name are likeable though.

In order of preference:

  1. Claudia
  2. Georgia
  3. Isabella

I know someone with daughters Olivia, Georgia and Katie.

So I'd say Georgia solely based on that.

TreeTrunkThighs · 25/11/2009 11:32

Claudia Rose?

Fruitbatlings · 25/11/2009 11:32

Claudia (prefer Claw-dia personally)

I like Isabella but I know so many little girls called Isabella/Isobel/Isabelle I've been put off a little.

Sesi · 25/11/2009 11:33

I think Isabella is lovely - the popularity would bother me but if you don't mind then I'd go for it.

Claudia second.

I don't like Georgia at all.

nickelbabe · 25/11/2009 11:33

I like Claudia best out of that list.
Georgia as second (mainly because of the popular issue as described above)

MrsMattie · 25/11/2009 11:33

Isabella is pretty, if hugely popular.

Not keen on the other two.

CirrhosisByTheSea · 25/11/2009 11:35

I think Georgia and Olivia go together really well. And Georgia seems alot less used nowadays. Claudia is unusual but I just don't find it a pretty name. Knew a Claudia at school and she was always called Claud, which is just not attractive imo!

Georgia Frances?
Georgia Louise?

emsyj · 25/11/2009 12:06

I like Claudia the best. I know 2 Claudias and like them both very much - really fun and lovely people (one my age (30s), one in her 60s).

MrsJohnDeere · 25/11/2009 12:11

Claudia.

Love Isabel/Isobel but not keen on Isabella.

sophiesmummie · 25/11/2009 13:18

Unfortunately the meaning of Claudia is not very nice...., shame as it is a nice sounding name.

Isabella is so very, very popular that I would avoid it for that reason.

That leaves Georgia . Nice name, although not my favourite.

But YOU'VE got to love the name, not us!!

weegiemum · 25/11/2009 13:20

I'm sorry, I don't like any of them.

MissClavel · 25/11/2009 13:21

I love Claudia. You could call her Claudia Jean and CJ for short (wanders off into West Wing reverie)

redsofas · 25/11/2009 13:22

I like isabella but would the popularity of the name bother you like other posters have already said?

Trialanderrorparenting · 25/11/2009 13:43

They are all really nice names.
I wouldn't tell anyone the choices as everyone has an opinion!!!
(I have a Zac and an Olivia. Zac not my first choice, but was talked into it and was post natal etc etc, would not choose again as too unusual, however it does kind of suit him so who knows! Am really happy with Olivia as it will hopefully stand the test of time and not date too much, we also call her livi for short).
I think either of those names would stand well for a young woman walking into a board room or any other walk of life!! Go for it
(Ps, love Georgia) x

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/11/2009 13:46

Claudia.

Although if you add an n then I like Georgina best.

Hulababy · 25/11/2009 14:00

Isabella

VengefulKitty · 25/11/2009 14:18

Georgia will get called George. Claudia will be Claud.

I like Isabella, but then I would have called DS Isabella or Sophie had he been a girl. You can have Izzie, Bella, Belle, Iz etc.

I don't like the other two.

snice · 25/11/2009 14:26

The meaning of Claudia puts me off a bit and Isabella is v popular at the moment so I would say Georgia.

But she will be called George

How about Sophia instead?

Love Georgia.

Like Isabella.

Don't like Claudia at all.

CuppaTeaJanice · 25/11/2009 15:32

What if it's a boy?

busterk · 25/11/2009 16:13

If its a boy not really sure yet.I will need to get a shorlist together.
I like Rowan (pronounced cow)for a boy.

Thanks for all the replies.
