Single syllable middle name for a girl?

We've chosen (and love) Ivy Tabitha as her first two names but my son has a family name as a third name and it would (possibly - jury's out! ) feel strange to give her one fewer names than my son. So we're looking for a very short second middle name - my surname has 2 syllables so I think 1 would be best.

Have already ruled out quite a few but we're hoping you'll have some more ideas!

Perhaps if we can't find one we like we'll stick with just two names - does anyone have any experience with this??

Having said all this we were wondering about Ivy Tabitha Alice - too much of a mouthful?

Ivy Tabitha is SOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous!! Well done on choosing a wonderful name!

Personally I wouldn't add another name as I think you've got it just right.

Alice is too clunky on the end I think.

How about the ubiquitous Rose? I love it and it's dd's middle name.

Jane? Or Jean?

What are/were your grandmothers or great grandmothers called? Or is there another member of either family who is special to you?

If I were you I wouldn't choose Jane (everone my age (near 40) has either Jane/Jayne or Anne as a middle name!

Also wouldn't choose Grace as everyone DD1 age (5/6) seems to have that as a middle name - including DD1! It seems to be the new Jane / Anne!!!

I quite like Georgia but as your son has a family name it might be nice to choose a family for your daughter.

Oh yes keep them coming thank you! My greatgrandmother was Ivy so it's already a family name. The only other one is Saunderson which is a family name on my father's side but as I don't have it I think it's a bit much.

Had thought about most of those - don't want it to sound too deep south Tabitha-Belle/ Tabitha-May etc if you know what I mean. We love Rose (apart from the ubiquity) but thought Ivy+Rose too floral...

I like Kate but DH not keen. Other grandmothers don't really have suitable names.

I like Ivy Tabitha Alice too, providing your surname is short or simple.

I have two middle names and my brother only has one middle name and I can honestly say it has never been an issue. I'd stick with Ivy Tabitha and not worry about another name. It's not like you love one more than the other just cos you gave it another name. Some people have no middle names at all - doesn't mean their parents don't love them!

Thank you so much everyone - we've decided to stick to our instincts and just have the two names - we realised we would just be adding another one for the sake of it. Hopefully Ivy will be just as happy with her name as we are! (although my grandma described her mother (Ivy) as not very bright or emotionally warm today!!).
