Agghhhh....almost every day I wonder if I made a mistake with my first daughter's name...she is called Mia (middle name is Elizabeth for family reasons, which is fine). I just can't quite be happy with the choice of Mia and keep wondering if it is too 'faddy' and whether it's too late to change it now she is four (not that I know what I would change it to..). Second daughter is Rose, which I love.

Any thoughts?

I love the name Mia. Some names are popular for a reason - because they're lovely. Mia is one of them.

Mia is lovely. Much better at the moment than Emilia/Amelia. It works well with Elizabeth.

Please don't use the middle name - I know lots of people do, but I have found this a pain all my life - if you want consistency in all your official documents you have to keep checking with school, work, etc. that they have the right name - and you end up being called by your first (unused) name by everyone official.

I like Mia, btw.

Thanks again, lovely people, for the new messages. Chickbean - I agree with what you say about middle names...ie not using them as a 'first' name...I know a few people in the same situation as you (and friends who are already regretting doing this for their children) and agree it must be a complete bore and complication with 'official' things etc. Good advice to avoid that one.
