Lovely names.

yama · 30/10/2009 20:31

Oh, and maybe Sven chose the names.

dizzydixies · 30/10/2009 20:56

they are lovely names I know how you feel though, fecking Amanda Holden and some sodding footballer's wife chose the name for our DD2 just after we had and now its raced up the charts

never mind, I still love it

GossipMonger · 30/10/2009 21:03

Could be worse. Kerry Katona named her son the same name as my son who is now 7 which still grates on me!

Annabelsmummie · 30/10/2009 21:04

At least they have them the other way 'round, so he'll be known as Magnus (and not Leon)..

MustNotEatCake · 30/10/2009 21:10

thanks ladies. I feel better.

dc1 is called the same as Scary Spice's dd too ... although in that case, it was actually SS who gave me the idea for the name

Now all I need is for dc2's name to be used by a Z-lister and I'll be all set for school-gate shame.

In the meantime, I guess this is the closest I'm going to get to David Beckham ... so let's just try to enjoy that ...

I thought you meant me then - I was a bit surprised as I don't have a DD

crankytwanky · 31/10/2009 13:04

I apparently have the same taste in names as Jules Oliver. We thought about Daisy and Honey, before settling on Blossom

(As did little Mo from EE.)

MaggieOicheSamhain · 31/10/2009 16:57

Well, it's the other way 'round! but wow, you have similar taste to her!?

I usually know slebs' children's names and this had passed me by entirely. I don't think most people are aware of RL anymore.

People will ONLY remember (if they remember at all) that RL has a MAgnus.
and your friends will probably only remember that your Leon Magnus.

MaggieOicheSamhain · 31/10/2009 16:57

... pressed post to soon

that your Leon Magnus is Leon

Mamazonabroomstick · 31/10/2009 17:07

"rebecca Loos gives birth to new baby boy"

Can you give birth to a second hand baby boy then?

nooka · 31/10/2009 20:08

Magnus is a fairly common Scandinavian name though isn't it?

MustNotEatCake · 01/11/2009 16:21

LOL 2nd hand baby boy

ah well, 'tis one of those odd coincidences ... could be worse.

I still love the name - in either formation

MrsBadger · 01/11/2009 16:31

in fact ';baby' is redundant in that sentence too - what other kind of boy would anyone be giving birth too?

We had our eye on William until the ubiquitous Kate Garraway 'stole' it...I actually felt pissed off with her.

Now liking Leo....tried it out on DP the other day he says 'what, like off Brookside?'
Err, you mean the rarely-seen child from a soap only watched by northern folk which finished 10 years ago?
Where does he get his references from...

MustNotEatCake · 01/11/2009 21:49

I actually have no idea who Kate Garraway is!! so not so ubiquitous in my world .... fortunately, as my 2nd dc has William as middle name ...

sonniebonnie · 02/11/2009 13:39

Magnus is indeed quite a common Scandinavian name. I love it!

As others have said, RL's son will be known as Magnus (how often do you use your second name?), whereas I assume your ds will be known as Leon.

MamaLazarou · 02/11/2009 13:48

Who takes any notices of what that yo-yo-knickered old Z-lister does, anyway?

They are lovely names.

ArrghnBoooeee · 02/11/2009 13:51

I've been eyeing up the name Magnus for DC3. Love it

thesecondcocking · 02/11/2009 16:16

curly watts off coronation street used to drink with my dad,his daughter has the EXACT same name as my eldest daughter,i don't think it's a coincidence as he came to her christening...
