Be open minded now
Edward and Edith are so popular now that I think it could work.

What do you think of Edna? Any middle name ideas?

Makes me think of Evil Edna too (with emphasis on the E of evil for some reason). I think for a middle name it doesn't matter too much though, and the family association is nice.

Edna as a middle name is totally different, especially in honour of someone's lovely gran. As a middle name, why not?

Edna is just horrible, but will probably become favoured in Primrose Hill circles because it's a bit out there... nothing to do with the parents liking it of course.

My Grandma's name. And she hates it! Think a certain type of girl/woman could pull off the retro cool, but most would grow to despise it.

Edna is an awful name I think-a bit like Nora or Norma-you cant really imagine a baby called any of those.Having said that I do know of a six year old named Edna Muriel!

Don't like it sorry.....may be OK as a middle name. I could never have used it because it was MIL name!

There are some lovely older names. When I was little there were lots of old maiden ladies who we all used to call 'Aunty'. No relation, but adults and children all refered to them as 'Aunty' Polly(x2), Emma, Alice (x2), Laura, Beatrice and Florrie.
They were all old maids who lived well into their 80s/90s. They were like second grandmas to all the village kids.....they always had cakes and sweeties!

I didn't realise at the time but these poor old dears never had a chance to marry and have families because there future DH were killed in WW1.
