I love Finn & Olivia

Cadmum · 27/10/2009 13:49

I like (in no particular order):

Alexandra
Olivia
Isobel (maybe Isabella to be shortened to Belle?)
Caitlyn

Finn
James

Names are difficult to choose, aren't they?

CinderellaRach · 27/10/2009 13:55

Alexandra and James

They are the most classic, stylish names on your list with the potential for many, many nns! Great on a newborn, great on the elderly. Love them.

overmydeadbody · 27/10/2009 13:55

Beau is lovely

Danny is awful.

diddl · 27/10/2009 13:59

Like all except Belle, Annalise, Georgie,

and for boys only like James.

posieparksherbroom · 27/10/2009 14:04

Belle No
Annalise Neighbours
Alexandra Okay
Mia Far too popular
Olivia as above
Isobel as above
Georgie No
Caitlyn Common
Lola like it

Danny ewww
Beau like it
Finn way too popular
James like it

CinderellaRach · 27/10/2009 14:58

I know Mia and Olivia are common but it's hard to decide...You want something different but then also classy and not chavvy and not wacky(celeb like)so that they'll get bullied at school.I've got Ellis who is 16 months old and I don't hear of many Ellis's but at the same time I'm sure he won't be bullied because of the name.x

Like Georgina shortened to Georgie. Suprisingly uncommon.

cece · 27/10/2009 15:05

Danny

not too keen on the other choices.

mathanxiety · 27/10/2009 15:05

Belle -- too like Ellis (L sound)
Annalise -- again too like Ellis
Alexandra -- like a lot
Mia -- like a lot
Olivia -- like a lot
Isobel -- the "el" sound, like Ellis
Georgie -- don't like
Caitlyn -- don't like
Lola -- Ellis and Lola, too many Ls

Danny -- like
Beau -- like
Finn -- like a lot
James -- like a lot

CinderellaRach · 27/10/2009 15:10

I like all your choices for boys!

For girls I prefer Mia or Isobel. I think 'Ellis and Isobel' sounds fine. Olivia is the No 1 UK girl's name so expect a few in her class!

LOVE Lola but I do wonder how it looks on top of a CV. Also when I've mentioned I love it other people always sing "her name was Lola, she was a showgirl' which isn't the best!

jellybeans · 27/10/2009 17:02

Belle...like it
Annalise...like it
Alexandra...not keen, may get 'ali'
Mia...love it
Olivia...too popular
Isobel...like but sooo popular
Georgie...don't like but Georgina is nice
Caitlyn...ok
Lola...don't like

Danny...ok
Beau...dislike
Finn ...like
James ...bit boring but ok

Jamieandhismagictorch · 27/10/2009 17:03

Belle - nice, but too similar to Ellis ?
Ditto
Alexandra - good name
Mia - nice, and prettier than Alexandra
Olivia - do not like
Isobel - nice - maybe a bit unimaginative ?
Georgie - no
Caitlyn - prefer Catherine
Lola - sorry, I hate this.

Danny - but would name Daniel
Beau - mm, not sure an adult would thank you for it
Finn - like
James - top choice

Cadmum · 27/10/2009 18:57

I just noticed that your ds's middle name is James. I wouldn't consider re-using a name (even a middle one) for a subsequent dc...

StephHaydock · 27/10/2009 19:29

Like all your girls names except for Caitlyn.
Danny my fave of your boy's names.

Lakesandsnadders · 27/10/2009 21:06

Lola. Mia and Olivia are beautiful. Finn sounds cool
