Hi
Cant decide on Madeleine or Esme.

Here are some family names that i might choose as a middle name, I know not everyones cuppa tea but would like to keep tradition as we used family names for DS.
Am open to using 2 middle names if they work.
Here goes;
Dawn
Patricia
Tina

Thanks

Esme Dawn sounds lovely. Or Esme Dawn Patricia.

Tina doesn't work so well in my head.

doubleexpresso · 25/10/2009 10:27

Madeleine Patricia has a nice ring to it. Or Esme Dawn. Good luck.

diddl · 25/10/2009 10:43

Like both, but think would go for Esme.

Esme Dawn or Esme Patricia both sound good to me.

frakula · 25/10/2009 14:07

Agree with diddl - Esme Dawn is really nice, but like Esme Patricia too.

JANEITEPatrickNormanMcHennesy · 25/10/2009 14:09

Esme Dawn is lovely.

My sister has a Madeline and an Esme - they are Madeline Rose and Esme Camille, not your family names I know but just thought I'd share them with you. x

MilkNoPoisonPlease · 25/10/2009 20:38

Esme Dawn is nice

not on your list i know but Esme Rose is beautiful

mrswill · 25/10/2009 20:44

You've chosen beautiful names. I think Esme Dawn would be lovely.

pipWereRabbit · 25/10/2009 20:45

Esme Weatherwax - strong, independent minded woman who knows her hats....

Seriously I do like it - esp. Esme Dawn

AngryPixie · 25/10/2009 20:54

Esme Dawn - delightful

LolaAnn · 25/10/2009 21:14

Esme Dawn is lovely

sugarladen · 26/10/2009 23:28

fraid i think esme is awful and there are a gazillion of them around now

BrigitBigKnickers · 26/10/2009 23:39

Madeleine Rose is beautiful (my neice's name)

Sorry really don't like Esme and Dawn is one of those 70s names that sounds like it should be shouted by a member of the Eastenders cast. "Leave it aht Dorn"

MRSwereWOOLFhasabroomofherown · 27/10/2009 05:51

Slightly prefer Madeleine, though Esme is nice too.
I agree with Brigit about Dawn. Is there not some variation on the middle names you could use? such as Christina etc which would complement the first names very well.

CinderellaRach · 27/10/2009 14:53

Madeleine Grace and Madeleine Rose are nice. Also Esme is beautiful and unusual ,a pretty name.

cece · 27/10/2009 14:58

mine is Esme Ann

mathanxiety · 27/10/2009 15:18

How about Aurora instead of Dawn? Then either Madeleine or Esme might go with it.

birdofthenorth · 27/10/2009 16:34

I like both names, love Esme. Esme Dawn is lovely.

Madeleine is a beautiful name but I'm afraid it now reminds a lot of people of the poor McCanns...

Jamieandhismagictorch · 27/10/2009 17:04

Prefer Madeleine

Madeleine Dawn

sargentpooper · 27/10/2009 23:18

Madeline

I'm bored of Esme, i know of so many of them, all under 2!

cece · 28/10/2009 09:58

I'll have you know that mine is 8!

Alishanty · 28/10/2009 13:45

Milknopoisonplease - we have an Esme Rose . People say Esme is 'common' but tbh i have only ever heard of about 3 other Esme's and none of them are under 2. In fact, we had a few raised eyebrows form some family members who had never heard of it and thought we had made it up or it was short for something.
Madeline nice too, but I ambiased towards Esme, have always loved the name.

cece · 28/10/2009 14:55

i had the raised eyebrows too alishanty!

angel25 · 02/11/2009 11:14

Both names lovely, but Esme was my number one name if I had a girl - but he wasn't!!

I had Esme Fleur - just thhink it sounded so romantic.

I know lots of Madleine's, but no Esme's!!

FreeTheGuidoOne · 02/11/2009 11:28

I know 2 Madeleines and 5 Esmes.
