It's my Nan's name, DD1 is named after DH's maternal grandmother, thought it could be nice to carry it on should next baby be a girl.

Didn't consider the Elephant connection til I typed it out! Drats.

My grandmother was Eleanor - always known as Nellie (a Yorkshire lass), and vetoed use of Eleanor for me on the grounds that she hated Nellie. In fact I have named my daughter Eleanor - love Ellie, Nel and - you know what - even Nellie.

My Nellie is an Elanor. Only those of a certain age seem to associate her name with the song.
When she is older I suspect I will call her Nell, as I really like that too.
